Bound for Glory 2014
By: sharkboy1200 Date: September 30, 2014, 1:35 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Thought I'd make an official thread:
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Kaz Hayashi vs. Low Ki
TNA X Division Championship
The Great Muta and Tajiri vs. James Storm and The Great Sanada
Team 3D (Bully Ray and Devon) vs. Abyss and Tommy Dreamer
Ethan Carter III vs. Ryota Hama
MVP vs. Kazma Sakamoto
Manik vs. Minoru Tanaka
Havok vs. Velvet Sky
Andy Wu & Hijo Del Pantera vs Kuroshio Ikemen Jiro & Yusuke
Kodama
Good looking card overall, I'm not sure if TNA plans to add
another match or two, but this is the card at the moment. Way I
see it, if this is the whole show, then Muta/Tajirir vs
Storm/Sanada will end up being the main event since this has the
most story to it along with having more star power and a legend
like Muta.
Looking forward to this PPV. Felt like the Global Impact show
they did for One Night Only turned out great and a show like
this has the potential to be just as good at the very least. I
do find it odd that they got Velvet Sky and not someone else
like Gail Kim, Taryn Tarrell, or even Madison Rayne. It'll be
interesting to see how she does in this match. Team 3D's match
is a little odd as well. I figured they'd be wrestling a team
like the Hardy's, but I suppose that would be overkill at this
point.
TNA Wrestling, in conjunction with Japanese-based
promotion Wrestle-1, will produce and broadcast its biggest
event of the year, Bound For Glory, outside of the United
States. Emanating from the famed Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan,
Bound For Glory will be available exclusively on Pay-Per-View
(PPV) Sunday, Oct. 12, beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
“Taking Bound For Glory, our company’s tent pole event, outside
of the United States for the first time is the culmination of
years of strategically introducing and growing the TNA brand and
affiliated properties internationally,” said TNA President Dixie
Carter. “TNA has cultivated an incredible relationship with
Wrestle-1, and we are proud to join forces in bringing wrestling
fans what will be a historic and memorable evening of
professional wrestling broadcast from one of the most legendary
fighting venues in all the world.”
At Bound For Glory, arguably the most-recognized Japanese
athlete in all of professional sports, The Great Muta, will join
forces with “The Japanese Buzzsaw” Tajiri to face Muta’s former
student, the “reborn” Great Sanada, who will be teamed with his
new mentor and leader of the revolution, James Storm in a much
anticipated grudge match.
The newest members of the TNA Hall of Fame, Team 3D - Bully Ray
and Devon, will be inducted into the exclusive club at Bound For
Glory. Bully and Devon will also be in action as Team 3D for the
first time faces fellow hardcore legends, The Monster Abyss and
Tommy Dreamer.
Bound For Glory will feature unique, one-time-only
inter-promotional matches between TNA and Wrestle-1 Superstars
including:
The unstoppable Samoan Submission Machine Samoa Joe defending
his X-Division championship vs the awe-inspiring Low Ki vs
former World Jr. Heavyweight Champion Kaz Hayashi
The undefeated EC3 vs former sumo wrestler Ryota Hama
The charismatic and devious MVP vs the global phenomenon Kazma
Sakamoto
The masked, unpredictable Manik vs the former IWGP Jr.
Heavyweight Champion Minoru Tanaka
In addition the card for Bound For Glory will include a
Knockouts battle between the destructive Havok and 2-time
Knockouts Champion and 2015 TNA calendar cover-girl Velvet Sky.
“I can confidently say this will be the most intriguing and
captivating three hours of professional wrestling action all
year,” said John Gaburick, TNA’s executive vice-president,
talent relations and creative. “With an incredible card pitting
the best professional wrestling athletes against one another in
never-before-seen matches, Bound For Glory will once again set
the standard for the best wresting in the world.”
Out of all the girls to go to Japan, why Velvet Sky?
Havok will destroy her in about 30 seconds

My guess is Bully Ray. They're a couple now and she was probably
part of the last minute negotiations.

Andy Wu & Hijo Del Pantera vs Kuroshio Ikemen Jiro & Yusuke
Kodama has been added to the card. Had a feeling they'd add a
little bit more. I'm willing to bet one more match will be
announced. I'm guessing Bobby Lashley vs Bobby Roode in some
form.

It's looking like those eight matches are the final card for
this Sunday. I'm surprised TNA has taken this direction with the
PPV, but I won't say that I'm not looking forward to the show
either. The past Japan shows were very fun to watch and this
will some actual story lines going into it. Not sure what deals
they made with Wrestle-1, but it seems to have come at the cost
of TNA really pushing hard towards that one PPV. At the very
least, it'll be an interesting and unique PPV, but I hope it's a
one time deal. I really want to see TNA push toward Lockdown
since that'll be the next PPV.

sorry but why is there no world championship match here? BFG is
ment to be the ppv of the year for tna , but for me it looks
like they have just added random matches to a ppv ..

Because Wrestle-1 did all the promoting & booking for the PPV

From what I understand, Wrestle-1 footed the bill for the PPV
and in return they got to book it their way for the most part,
which is why we had The Great Muta and Tajiri vs James Storm and
Sanada as the main event. Shame Sting is gone. Great Muta and
Sting teaming up would have been awesome to see.
