       UPDATE on the Spike/TNA Deal
By: ChrissiCalvert Date: August 24, 2014, 2:40 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The word going around the television industry is that Spike TV
wants out of the pro wrestling business and as a result, will
not be keeping TNA’s Impact Wrestling on their schedule, nor
will they be buying out TNA, or buying into any other pro
wrestling promotions, as had been rumored in the past..
The impression is being given that TNA has a new television home
to move to once their deal with Spike TV expires, however it is
said to be a smaller network.
What’s interesting is that Spike TV is reportedly willing to let
TNA remain on the network after their deal is up at the end of
this year, likely week-to-week, until they transition to their
       new network.

I wonder what the smaller network is. Hopefully it at least has
more varied programming than SpikeTV. **fingers crossed for
       Esquire Network or CMT**

If TNA does go off Spike and goes to another network, I hope
it's a network that my cable company provides. Latest thing I've
read is TNA will stay on Spike for the rest of the year. Then we
will see what happens. I won't be a happy camper if TNA isn't
broadcast on our cable system. I'm not a WWE hater but I've
gotten where I very seldom watch WWE anymore. I'm very bored
with the wrestlers and fans against the COO storylines in both
TNA and WWE. Time for a change in storylines.

I don't think it'll be a problem. Spike TV is owned by Viacom
and they want Impact Wrestling on one of their channels. Odds
are that it'll be included in your package.

Heard a rumour, and bear in mind that it is just a rumour, TNA
may be going to the Discovery Network Channel

Discovery Channel isn't the same as it used to be. It's filled
with lots of reality TV, so this wouldn't be too surprising.
Lots of formerly niche TV channels have gotten into the business
of diversifying their programming. History channel is an example
of this as well with shows like Pawn Stars (their biggest show
and most aired), American Pickers, Pawnography, Swamp People,
and Vikings (one of my favorite shows). Should be interesting,
especially if someone like EY takes his Animal Planet show to
Discovery. Doesn't have to be the same name, but the same theme.

Whatever the case may be,I hope TNA airs on CMT if they don't
reach a agreement with Spike TV
