Well New Japan and ROH clearly think so because he is earning
more money between them than he ever did in TNA. His price will
go down to the indies, but he is the holder of the second most
important title in wrestling. That is worth a lot of money to
his draw.

I meant per anum, not like 10 years on TNA salary vs one year on
NJPW salary.

How come they do not have a TV deal then if they are so rich and
good ?? AJ lost his way in TNA so it was the best thing for him
to do and it has payed off for him .

Because they don't need to. They concentrate on the Japanese and
Asian markets where they have more presence and penetration.
They have good TV deals in Japan Thailand and other Asian
markets and they concentrate on live draw, PPV and iPPV rather
than on TV in the more traditional sense. I don't know the buy
rates off the top of my head but I shall look them up, I do know
their biggest gate this year was Wrestle Kingdom 8 which I
believe was 34,000 at the Egg Dome so you can see they are a
much bigger promotion that TNA and as such have much deeper
pockets. Karl Anderson whose their current tag champion has gone
on record saying his NJPW salary is $600,000 per anum which is
probably big talk but it won't be far off that. The Steiners
where on 10,000 a night back in 93.

Just on those numbers and buy rates. NJPW does about 100,000 in
IPPV per show and they do one big PPV a month and lots of house
shows are on IPPV exclusively like the Fantasticamania Tour, the
G1 Climax opening rounds and so on. I have no numbers for the
PPV buy rates, the last one I could find was from about 10 years
ago where they did 1.6 Million buys, and their live crowds are
much bigger now than they were then so I would guess they have
held that number. They have an hour long TV show on TV Ashai
which does about 3.4 ratings at 1am.
In comparison, TNA did 17,000 PPV buys for BFG in 2013, and do
around about 0.8-1.0 for Impact on a weekly basis. WWE do around
3.0 for Raw every week and do around a million buys for
Wrestlemania (I don't know how much The Network will effect that
in future years), so they are in that range of penetration in
Japan without a prime time slot. In essence they don't need TV
they run much more like a traditional company and try and get
there money at the live gate and in PPV :).
