Sheriff Lonestar's PPV of the Week; The Matriach of Monsters

I am going to apologize in advance. This will be short. I feel
like hammered shit this morning and I have done all week, so my
expressiveness is lost in a world of runny noses and stomach
cramps and I have to go to work shortly. I may add stuff when I
feel better, however here is today's video which is a "Greatest
Hits", of the wonderfully heelish, brute force and more brute
force that is Aja Kong.
Taken from a commercial release this is some of Aja's best stuff
of 1993, her last year as WWWA Women's Champion. She was already
setting up to drop the belt to Manami Toyota but that did not
stop her going out with a bang. The tape, as it was back then,
opens up with an absolute classic. Age old enemies Aja Kong and
Bull Nakano teaming up to take on the incredibly over, and
incredibly gifted Manami Toyota & Toshiyo Yamada, without doubt
the best female tag team of all time and in my top five list for
best tag team of all time. Toyota and Yamada were poetry in
motion. Kong and Nakano set the mould for what a moster wrestler
could do. Wrestled at a frenetic pace, its worth watching this
disk for alone. To see women as big as Aja and Bull move this
fast is breath taking.
Having said that all of these matches are great, though I would
say Aja vs Dynamite Kansai is possibly the best at showing what
Aja can do in the ring. Dynamite kicks harder than Aja does so
seeing an opportunity to show off her mat skills she takes it to
the ground and shows off her suplex variations which are brutal.
Aja Kong & Bull Nakano vs Eagle Sawai & Harley Saito is fun romp
as its cool to see JWP's Monsters vs AJW's Monsters but regular
readers of this column will notice it comes from the Dream Slam
series and may have seen it before.
All in all a great bit of viewing. I'm off to go and be ill
somewhere else. I will add more as I go along.
