How to trigger people. My issues with the Creepy Bastards of lif

Right, first off: I don't hate TNA, or Dixie... or even Samuel
       Shaw.
What I do hate is the current angle with Sam being a creepy
stalker and the whole use of the blackout in Sam's bedroom when
       he is with Christy.
Why is this such a bad angle? IT IS TRIGGERY AS HELL! There are
fans (and yes, even amateur wrestlers) who have suffered similar
       things.
I know some of you out there are going 'but it's just an angle'
NO! No it is not 'just an angle' this angle happens to women
       every day.
Women are stalked, raped even murdered by people they know. They
also can be attacked by strangers, I know that much, but here's
my problem with the Sam and Christy thing.
I have been through something very similar. I was 16 the first
time that I was attacked, by my then boyfriend. I was 17 when he
commited suicide and blamed me for it. I am now 26.
In the past 9 years I have put up with being stalked, with
almost being raped (several different times) one guy actually
got fairly close to being able to rape me, to the point it was
my then tag-team partner who rescued me.
       So, here's my problem:
TNA is not friendly toward women. Not with this angle.
There have been other problematic things and angles, but this
one triggered the hell out of me. That is not fair and it sure
as hell is not fucking funny.
I shouldn't have to be wary of going to a TNA taping because
they might show Christy struggling with Sam and trying to escape
       him.

I will go you one further and say that TNA is not friendly to
women at all. If you look at the Velvet Sky/Chris Sabin story
line which isn't as creepy, but is still an abusive boyfriend
story line, which while it has been played less seriously still
ended up with a woman in a cage. Despite being the stand out
worker of last year in TNA, Gail Kim did not get to main event
even an Impact Wrestling, nor did Taryn Tyrell or Micke James
both of whom put in far more effort than most of the male
roster. Women's matches are far to short and offer no thought
process in their development or reasons for their existence in
some cases. Women turn face and heel with little to know
explanation and if the rumour is true and Russo is back then
this will only get worse because Russo quite frankly is a woman
hating misogynist pig. The only light for the end of the tunnel
for me is that they appear to be signing women who can go,
whether they give them time or not is a different matter (no
       spoilers folks).
I would also say the language of male wrestlers could use some
tending to. Its a national TV show, so you have your lead heel
offering to pile drive Ken Anderson's wife on a weekly basis,
because apparently people won't be offended by that. Its the
same act Bully has been doing since his ECW days, but in ECW
they where playing to a much smaller audience and people where
going knowing they wanted to be offended (Ros I know you like
Bully, and I mean no disrespect to him or what he has achieved
but his language choices in the recent weeks need to be
       curtailed).
Here is a thing, recently Barber Shop Window T's ran a new T
shirt that said "Support Women's Wrestling" bordering a
silhouette of a woman who fits the stereotypical male ideal
dancing on a stripper pole. When they where called on it by many
wrestling journalists including Lee Burton of Ringbelles, Leslie
Lee of Dirty Dirty Sheets, and The Mandible Claw's and TWB's own
Danielle Matheson. They where told "get a sense of humour" when
the women who use their site for T Shirt sales such as Adey Star
complained and told them they would pull their designs and
revenue then they pulled the shirt.
While I agree that the only way to stop this attitude is perhaps
to stop supporting the garbage that these companies produce, I
am also balanced by the fact that If everyone stopped watching
Impact they would be out of a job. So we keep pressuring, write
posts like this, write blogs, and celebrate women's wrestling.
The best form of pure wrestling on the planet, sorry boys, but
if you give me Austin Aries, I'll take Meiko Satomura, if you
give me Abyss, I'll take Alpha Female. If you give me Samoa Joe,
I'll have KANA. As much as I love all of those guys women
deserve better, and why for the love of God would you want to
alienate half your potential fan base?

I agree with you on Bully's language. He's a sweet guy in RL but
his character REALLY needs fixing cause... ew. Do not love the
attitude at all. I honestly feel kind of sorry for the guy,
he's so nice to women and yet, in ring and promos he ends up
being rude and gross as hell. It's not a good look at all, the
difference with Sam though is the guy doesn't come off sweet to
fans even out of ring. It's easier for me to like a dude if he
does at least attempt to give a flying fuck when he triggers
       people.

       Very true ^^^^
But I think it is because we all now bully and how he is his ..
so he gets away with saying that .. TNA are not pg do he can say
that . But yer they need to treat girls better . This crap with
velvet sky is so wrong and then you have Magnus telling Dixie
       what to do to ..

The Velvet/Chris thing has at least passed though, ditto
Brooke/Bully... but the Sam/Christy could run for ages and I'm
just not here for it. I will say I kind of like the Magnus vs
Dixie thing because at least Dixie can bite back, which Christy
       isn't getting an option for.

It also doesn't help that the Sam Shaw storyline is dreadful and
really baldy done. So Simon Diamond didn't complain to the
police when he was attacked backstage with his own shoes? Which
is lets face it just bizzare. Chrissie apparently doesn't watch
the show she appears on, because she has had no reaction to
Simon Diamond sequence. Its just dumb.

Again, TNA trying to be original and messing it up.
It seems to me since the Carter's bought TNA, they have
constantly looked for that one person who can run the show
properly - someone who can come up with great storylines, direct
shows, use talent correctly (including the Knockouts) and
generally make TNA the best it can be.
They want progress and development. And, boy, are they
       struggling to find it!
They keep putting their faith (and their money) in and getting
       nothing back.
Ferreira, Zeb, Russo, Cornette, Bischoff... each ends in
disappointment. Conway & Lagana can't seem to be capable of
anything except turning ideas told to them into scripts without
       an original thought.
Now Dixie is giving it a go and she's figuring out it's not so
easy. So, the search starts again.
I don't know if TNA will ever find their perfect saviour but I
hope they do one day. It's a real shame that the Carter's
haven't been rewarded with a talented, loyal, respectful,
hard-working, original writer/producer for all their faith and
       dedication. They sure deserve one.

To be honest Phoney this goes deeper than one on screen writer,
or writing team its to do with the way women are treated in main
stream wrestling, though I agree with you they have never had
one hand on the tiller that could hold things together and I had
high hopes for Conway and Lagana.
The issue is in mainstream wrestling women are seen as support
and never the lead of the company. We had a "Knockouts", and
don't even get me started on the use of that word, title match
the other week on Impact. Why wasn't that the main event? Bully
Ken sure they needed to set that up, but why couldn't Gail and
Madison have 20 minutes and told a story instead of rushing it
       because it needed to happen?
Velvet has a problem with Chris, so you want to shake things up?
Have Velvet take the X Division title of Chris herself. She'd be
giving away less weight to Chris than Chris was to Bully when he
won the title of him before anyone says that wouldn't be
believable. Instead we have Velvet in a cage, because that's how
women are supposed to be treated, she can't be trusted. Its
dated Memphis crap that shouldn't be seen on TV today.
But that's the attitude the whole company has, fluff not
substance. When Gail and Taryn stole the show at Slammaversay I
thought we had seen a new way of showing women in this company
and show casing their talent, but no after Gail's run to the
summer which was the best thing to watch in TNA for months we
       are back to the start.
Its so depressing when there are so many places where women get
a fair shake now and they are not following suit.

I'm super tempted to just invite Dixie to hire me. At least then
we wouldn't have any BS with weirdness like Creepy Bastard.
