Roger Lloyd-Pack Dead

Roger Lloyd-Pack, beloved for his role as Trigger in Only Fools
and Horses has died at the age of 69 from pancreatic cancer. His
agent confirmed that he passed away on Wednesday 15 January.
A popular face on British television, it was his role as Colin
'Trigger' Ball in Only Fools and Horses that made him a
household name. He's also famous for his stints as Owen Newitt
in The Vicar of Dibley and Barty Crouch, Sr in Harry Potter and
the Goblet of Fire.
Born in Islington, London on 8 February 1944, he trained at the
Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where he worked with actors
including Kenneth Cranham (Shine On Harvey Moon) and Richard
Wilson (One Foot In The Grave).
His first big break came in popular action series The Avengers
back in 1965. A variety of roles on stage and television
followed including Jason King, The Protectors, Special Branch,
prison drama Within These Walls, Dixon of Dock Green, The
Professionals and Private Schulz with the late Michael Elphick.
In 1981 Roger Lloyd-Pack landed the part which has forever
cemented his place in British comedy: Trigger in Only Fools and
Horses.
Not exactly the brightest spark in the box, Trigger was a
much-loved member of a cast rich in characterisation. For some
reason known only to himself, he insisted on calling Rodney
Trotter 'Dave'.
Trigger also appears in one of the funniest Only Fools and
Horses moments when he and Del Boy Trotter ditch their local pub
to pick up women in a trendy wine bar.
"Play it nice and cool, son. Nice and cool. Y'know what I mean?"
says Del just before he falls through the bar hatch. Trigger
looks around for Del - the watching audience crack up laughing.
Roger Lloyd-Pack's career continued with the likes of Doctor
Who, Doc Martin, Poirot and The Borgias.
Married twice (his first wife was Sheila Ball whom he divorced
in 1972, and his second is poet and dramatist Jehane Markham,
daughter of the late David Markham whom he married in 2000), he
is survived by daughter Emily Lloyd (famous for her starring
role in 1987 hit film Wish You Were Here), and three sons.
