Thanks to who ever i get this from inforgot there name but they
was at the show last night
Had front row seats, so I got to do the meet and greet. Samoa
Joe, Austin Aries, The Bro-Mans, Gail Kim and Chris Sabin come
out to sign autographs. All of them were friendly and engaging
with the fans.
This was a fun event to attend, and TNA had all of their top
guys there besides Kurt Angle and Mr. Anderson. This is probably
close to a 1,000 seat gym at the most. Good crowd tonight with
about 3/4 of the gym full. The crowd was hot all night, too.
Here are the results:
Shawn Schultz vs. Dewey Barnes
This match was announced as a Gutcheck Challenge. Schultz was
announced as the Atlanta, GA Gutcheck winner. Looks to be from
2012 based on the Gutcheck website. Dewey Barnes come straight
from the souvenir stand to the ring. Quick back and forth match
that ended with Schultz coming off the ropes, and Barnes rolled
him up for the pin. The roll up set a theme for the night.
Winner: Dewey Barnes
X Division Title Match
Chris Sabin (c) vs. Austin Aries
Pretty good overall match. Only went about 10 minutes top. After
some action on the outside of the ring (most of it right in
front of us), they went back to the ring. Earl Hebner got
distracted somehow. When this happened, Sabin pulled out a
foreign object and nailed Aries to get the win. After the match,
Sabin was taunting Aries, which led to Aries nailing a few
punches on Sabin and sending him to the back.
Winner: Chris Sabin
Knockouts Championship Match
Gail Kim (c) vs. Madison Rayne
This match went about 5-10 minutes. Ended with Kim getting a
roll up on Rayne and grabbing the ropes for leverage.
Winner: Gail Kim
World Tag Team Title Match
Bro-Mans (c) vs. James Storm and Gunner
This was the most entertaining match of the night due to the
comedy. It started off with Robbie E posing on the ropes to a
lot of heat. Then, James Storm posed on the ropes to a big
cheer. All of a sudden, Earl Hebner jumped up on the ropes and
posed to a big cheer. Both guys made tags, then Jessie and
Gunner got up on the ropes and posed before tagging back out.
The match started and Storm got Robbie E in the corner and
messed up his hair. This led to Robbie going on the outside and
getting into a brief shoving match with Jessie. Then, they
hugged and the match started back. Jessie got Storm in a
headlock and provoked Gunner getting into the ring on a couple
of different occasions, which distracted Hebner. While
distracted, Robbie E did some kind of armbreaker over the ropes
on Storm a couple of times. This happened a third time, but when
Hebner was distracted again, Robbie E had his back turned
waiting to do it again, but Storm took Jessie over to him.
Robbie thought he had Storm and proceeded to do the armbreaker
over the ropes again. Gunner and Storm both got out of the ring
and walked around to cheer him on which made Robbie realize he
had Jessie. Really funny spot. The match came down to Storm and
Gunner going for a double team move, but Robbie pulled Storm out
of the ring, then the Bro-Mans hit their double team finisher
for the win.
Winner: Bro-Mans
Bobby Roode vs. Abyss
Roode came out first. He cut a promo talking about how he beat
Sting in a cage, and will beat Angle next Thursday in a cage. He
then said there was nobody there to fight him, so he issued an
open challenge to anybody in Bristol. Actually thought it might
be the old Rock n Roll Express guy, Ricky Morton coming out. He
was in attendance and the crowd starting chanting for him, but
obviously it wasn't him. All of a sudden, Abyss' music hit and
here he come. Decent back and forth match that ended with Roode
going for his Death Valley Driver, but Abyss escaped. Roode shot
off the ropes and Abyss hit him with the Black Hole Slam for the
win.
Winner: Abyss
Intermission
TNA World Heavyweight Title Match
Magnus (c) vs. Sting
Pretty decent match that went about 10 minutes or so. Ended with
Sting hitting a Stinger Splash, then trying again, but Magnus
pulled Brian Hebner in front of him. While Hebner was down,
Magnus come off the middle rope, but Sting caught him and put
him in the Scorpion. Magnus tapped, but Hebner was still down.
Sting went over to check on Hebner, and then Magnus rolled him
up for the win.
Winner: Magnus
2 out of 3 falls
Samoa Joe vs. Bully Ray
Was really surprised this was the main event over Sting and
Magnus, but Joe signed took pictures with the fans at the end,
so it made sense.
Joe come out first, while he was walking around the ring, Bully
come out and threw him into the steps. Bully threw Joe back into
the ring and run his mouth at the crowd and Earl Hebner for a
minute. Bully told Hebner to get down and count -- which he
reluctantly did -- for the 3 count.
First Fall: Bully Ray
The second fall started the same as the first. Hebner got a 2
1/2 count and Joe got his arm up. Bully argued with Hebner over
to the corner, then Joe rolled Bully up for the quick three
count.
Second Fall: Samoa Joe
The third and final fall went back and forth for a bit. It ended
with Joe slapping Bully into the Rear Choke for the tapout, and
the win.
Winner: Samoa Joe
