The Greatest WWE Champion Poll Tournament Round 1

So this time we are going to throw 16 names into the hat,
because well this belt has been a round a little longer and
there has been a lot more champions. The 16 guys who held the
belt the longest will get your attention, with a video and bio
for each. In the first round we are going to go fatal four way
on your butts just to speed things up a little but the voting
will be extended to six days. So first round first four picks.
Brunno Samartino
Brunno Samartino essentially defined the role of WWWF, as it was
then, Champion. His two reigns made the company as it tried to
break away from the NWA. He held the belt for a remarkable 4,040
days, in two reigns that lasted for eleven years. He became the
Champ by beating Buddy Rogers for the belt in 48 seconds in one
of the most controversial titles changes ever "we can do this
the easy way or the hard way Buddy" Bruno was reported to say as
he entered the ring as Buddy was told he was going over by DQ.
No one knows if Buddy took the easy or the hard way, but the
result would have been the same for the Italian shooter. Champ
for 11 years. That will never happen again.

Kurt Angle
The only man on the list to appear in out last poll as well but
we are only dealing with his four WWE Title runs in this case.
With a total of 297 days as champion, he clocks in 16th on the
all time list and just sneaks into out poll. He was the man who
took the WWE forward in its difficult transition period between
the Austin/Rock era slowing down and the PG era coming to the
fore. The only Olympic and Pro Wrestling world title holder. He
brought a sense of athletic realism to the product not seen
since the days of Bob Backlund. His four reigns with the belt
kept things moving along nicely at Titan Towers.

Randy Savage
Randy became WWE champion in an era when smaller athletic
wrestlers where not supposed to be able to pull in the big
money. Already a cool who heel who commanded a big following, he
and Miss Elizabeth turned face after his lighting rod IC title
reign and turned heads. Picking up the title in the main event
of Wrestlemania 4 at a sold out Trump Plaza. His second title
reign came at the expense of Ric Flair in a heated affair at
Wrestlemania 7, either way he proved he could path the way for
smaller men on the biggest stage of all. 2 Reigns 520 Days.

John Cena
Fourth on the all time list at 1,191 days is John Cena.
Controversial, overly towards the side of entertaining, perhaps,
but he puts butts in seats and that has made him the got to guy
in the big E as of late. Taking his first title at Wrestlemania
21 from John Bradshaw Layfield he went on to hold the title
eleven times with only HHH and The Rock being close at 8.

and I am going for john . I am not a fan of him but he has done
a lot of good and been the champion the most . He has also had
some of the best matches

Interesting, after one days voting I expected Angle to do
better. I though Cena would be a tought call, lots of people
don't like him but he is the most visible person on this list.
Obviously though I think Bruno commands a lot of respect.

I do not like john but like you say he has done a lot and love
him or hate him you have to respect what he has done and to be
the champion what 11 or so times is amazing ..
Do not tell anyone who is winning yet lol :p
