Should Dolph Ziggler be striped of WHC ? have your say
By: tnagirl Date: May 30, 2013, 3:14 pm

Agreed. There was nothing really hot going on when Dolph was
defending his title, so by extension, not much is going on
during his absence. It's ironic to read the varying opinions on
Dolph; from missing him greatly because people "have really
taken to him" as champion.....to not really caring, because he's
a glorified mid-carder holding the title (I'm in that camp).
Either way, the idea of a rule that states a champion must
forfeit his title because he got conked in the head is kind of
harsh, no? If he were due to be out 6 months, it would be a
practical consideration, but Dolph could be cleared pretty soon.
Give it some time.

I disagree, he is a total bump machine and the kind of guy they
need with the title for a while. I see that championship as kind
of the pure wrestlers title. Smackdown has always been "the
wrestling show" since Paul Heyman's days and The Smackdown Six,
which I think he fits into that mold very well. I hope he is
better soon and back working again. He is important because he
can get people over with out costing himself to much which is a
lost art these days.

When Jeff Hardy was made WWE Champion, WWE made it perfectly
clear then on TV that The WWE Championship Title Belt and The
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Title Belt have to be
defended every night , 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They also
said that IF for any reason either Champion can't return to in
ring action after 30 Days then they would be stripped of their
Title Belts, but that won't happen with Dolph Ziggler as he's
WWE best bump machine and worker.

[/quote] so is that one rule for one and not for the other ? I
think they should if he can not put it on the line in the 30
days and then when he is better give him it back.

Rules in wrestling are pliable, its not like you know its a real
sport. I'd rather have it that way. this is a short term problem
(we hope), strip him of the belt and you'd have to run a
tournament or something equally as heavy to keep the title
lineage strong. Thats been the WWE way for a while, they didn't
strip the The British Bulldogs of the Tag Titles when Dynamite
got hurt they waited till he was better (well enough to get onto
a ring apron) and lose the titles in the ring. The only guy in
living memory I can remember being properly stripped was Shawn
Michaels in his first Intercontinental title run. They had a
battle royal and then the last two, Razor Ramon and Rick Martel
if memory serves, had a play off match for the belt. Then of
course you had Shawn and Razor at 'Mania they blew the roof off
the place and everything changed. So it has to be a totally mind
blowing way of getting the belt back over.

Then you'd have "but I never lost the belt" which would be a
good angle, but the world title is to important.

That perception has to still be there. Its wrestling perception
is 9 10ths of the law.
