As you can see Jay was "somewhat upset" that Delaware had become
an enlightened state.

I think they dealt with it as best they could. They are trying
to build an audience and obviously gay men are part of that
audience, I would have thought you'd want to look after them as
best you can. ROH promote mainly in the North East, which
includes Sandy Hook and Boston. The locker room has a lot of
Boston guys, Eddie Edwards for one, so I can't imagine that they
would be to happy with Jay threatening an act of violence after
what happened a few weeks ago. As far as the Sandy Hook thing
goes, threatening teachers is a whole other set of problems
especially as ROH promotes in a lot of High School Gyms and does
a lot of fund raisers for High School sports clubs. It was just
plain dumb and hurtful, he has apologized but it doesn't make it
right.
Just for the record; The charity Lesbian & Gay Foundation says
16% of gay and bisexual boys have attempted suicide and 57% have
thought about taking their own life in the UK. At least 1 in 5
lesbians have attempted suicide and the LGF says the suicide
rate for gay youngsters is up to three times higher than for
their heterosexual peers.
There is no excuse for homophobic bullying of any nature, and
Jay should have known better. I will go back to my happy go
lucky self now :).

Well as CP Scott, The Guardian Editor in 1926, once said
"Comment is free, but facts are sacred." I hold the opinion that
all writing should be of the highest value, so I think carefully
about what I write, maybe not as carefully as say an academic
paper, but there are posts I wrote 14 years ago on Usenet forums
about WCW still floating around google, so I like to have some
longevity :). I write better than I did then and know more, so
that makes me at least, you know, coherent lol. Always with
taste and good manners though, I will correct gently if needs be
:). Thank you sir for your kind comments though :). Nice to be
appreciated.

Why does someone get reprimanded for saying something against
gay marriages but you don't get reprimanded for being pro gay
marriages. Doesn't it seem funny that if someone voice their
dislike toward the gay marriages they get crucified because they
speak how they believe and feel. If a pro gay marriages believer
says something about gay marriages people act like nothing is
out of the ordinary. To me that's a double standard.

ROH needs to apologize to Briscoe that he can't say what he
believes without repercussion. What happened to FREE SPEECH?
The gay supporters can voice their opinion but the anti gay
people can't?

As far as I know, no pro gay marriage delegates in Delaware
threatened to shoot anyone to make this statute become law. This
isn't about freedom of speech, and I would protect Jay's right
to say what he likes, that means he has to live with the
consequences. The consequences are he is the figurehead of a the
third biggest wrestling company in the country which turns over
thousands of dollars in the the most socially liberal part of
the country. It was bound to be the reaction that company had to
give.
It is not an extreme opinion to be pro gay marriage, nor is it
an extreme opinion to be anti gay marriage. Its the threatening
to shoot people part that is.
If you owned a company and one of your employees said something
horribly racist, homophobic or sexist in a local paper
interview, would you let them get away with it?

I'm just fed up with the political correctness crap. It's the
idea of the person who says anything anti-gay is this horrible
person when he speaks his opinion about the subject because
he/she doesn't think it right. I agree we shouldn't be violent
towards the gay or non-gay, or against someone's race but it's
we're horrible monsters if you voice our displeasure on the
subject of being anti-gay or pro gay. In other words why can't
Briscoe voice his opinion on his beliefs of same sex marriages?
Granted he needs to do without any violent threats but he
should be able to voice his opinions on a subject. The company
should have made a statement that expressions and views of the
wrestlers is in no way the opinions of our company.
