Managers in wrestling making a come back have your say

It looks like we are seeing WWE and other shows bring back
managers . I am a fan of this I love seeing how the manager gets
the star over . Like what Paul hayman did with Brock and cm punk
he helped get cm punk over and it worked good..
There is a new trend in the WWE and for an old school wrestling
fan I love it lol . i am not a fan of the WWE shows but saying
that i am enjoying WWE right now because of the way they are
using the Managers and getting other stars over.
Let's take a look at some f them in the WWE now ..
Paul Heyman who ran ECW as well as being a GM of smack down back
in the days . He helped -CM Punk get over. paul Hayman and cm
punk are The most successful manager-superstar combo that is
currently out here. Now CM Punk definitely doesn't need Heyman,
nor the other way around, but this combo is, IMO, making CM Punk
bigger and bigger every day. I'm not saying he's John Cena by
any means, but I'm seeing parallels between CM Punk and Stone
Cold. Also it helps get him over as a heel by working with one
of the best heels out their Paul hayman .
Next one is AJ Lee-Dolph Ziggler: AJ Lee is just a crazy chick
lol but I love to see it :p I don't know if A.J. should be
considered a manager because she is still on the roster as a
working wrestler. but saying that i can not remember the last
time i sew her in the ring lol. so for all intents and purposes
and I going to say she is a manager...this is what I think so if
you do not think the same please tell via posting on here.. and
I may get some negative feedback on this, but for me them 2
remind me a lot of Lita-Edge. I think A.J. is overall making
Ziggler a bigger draw. I think Ziggler plays a great heel,
despite the whole fact that I was one of the strongest "Ziggler
should be face" advocators for awhile. I think this pairing is
really solid and it is working in a good way to..
Jack Swagger-Zeb Coulter: I love zeb coulter back from the tna
days and watching him kick ass in other brands. I love this
pairing and it's been a day. This might have the potential to be
a ridiculously good manager-superstar combo for the forseeable
future. Zeb seems to be the most ridiculous redneck ever, but
the guy seems to be a genius! Plus it gives WWE an excuse not to
put Swagger on the mic. I love this pairing.
Managers seem to be increasing where they're needed. What do you
guys think?
Questions to discuss:
1) Managers- Good thing or bad thing?
2) Who do you think would benefit from a good manager?
3) Do you think managers are here to stay?
And anything else that relates.

Questions to discuss:
1) Managers- Good thing or bad thing?
Managers when used correctly are awesome. It is highly unlikely
we will see any as good as the great managers of the past, Jim
Cornette, Bobby Heenan et al. just because there are a lot of
talented talkers out there already. One thing it does do is give
a consistent heel force in a company. Back in the Day Bruno
Sammartino didn't really feud with wrestlers, he feuded with
managers. His challengers where always transient coming in and
out of the territory as need be before setting off to challenge
another incumbent champions somewhere else. It can still work in
the modern business setting the most recently succesful example
being Paul E. Dangerously's (Paul Heyman in his pre ECW days)
Dangerous Alliance who ran the table in WCW in in '93. One key
figure and an ever changing stable of wrestlers.
2) Who do you think would benefit from a good manager?
Anyone would really, I think Rob Terry is an obvious example of
where a traditional manager role would work best. Imposing
character with limited mic skills takes on mouth piece. However
if a good manager was available for Austin Aries and Bobby Roode
(and I would have loved to have seen them JJ Dillon or Gary
Hart in their playboy hey day) would give them that extra edge.
Even a talented talker like CM Punk can get over the top help
from a talent like Paul Heyman.
3) Do you think managers are here to stay?
Yes and no, it is another mouth to feed in the company. The
company has to ask are they talking enough people into the
building to be worth their while? Just the same as any other
talent.
