Absolutely cracking game of rugby in a wonderful setting. A real
Yorkshire derby with the home side determined to take the
bragging right’s. Full credit to Huddersfield for upsetting the
odds. The game ebbed and flowed but in my opinion they justly
deserved to edge it. They took full advantage of our mistakes
and prevented us breaking the line.

Surprising defeat a d not one I was expecting. Shows what this
league is like. Onwards to next season now and as Chris says
let's use the remaining g games to try things out and build. I
think this may be more valuable than worrying g if we fi ish 2nd
or 3rd.

It’s not mistakes when you let in six tries. It’s poor
defending.

We should have blitzed them. They were second from bottom in my
strength ratings and Roth 3rd from top. Very disappointing and
season over.

It was a very entertaining game.
There were 3 or 4 times during the game, when it felt like we
were going to win quite comfortably. We scored very early. Then
we gave them a couple of tries through aimless kicking and
missed tackles when they ran the kicks back at us. Then we got
back into it and looked on top again. Then they played some very
good rugby and scored a couple of excellent tries. Then we got
back into it. But a line out mix up gave them the winning try.
At the end, we were attacking but knocked on a couple of times.
In the last 3 or 4 minutes, the ref, who I thought did ok for
most of the game, made a number of very perplexing decisions. I
don't know what he gave the penalties for, and our players
didn't seem to either. Why he shouted at a Huddersfied player
for lying on, instead of penalising him was a bit of a mystery
too.
Having said that, while we looked well on top at times, over the
80 minutes I thought they played the better rugby. Their scrum
stood up as well.
We seemed to pick up a number of injuries again. We had at least
4 front row players on for quite a time at the end, I think.
Fantastic setting with the viaduct and river.

Not a game we should have lost. Intact based upon results
against other top sides we should have won easy. I think there
are lots of areas to build for next season. Good defensive
coaching is one area I feel.

I think that the lads are running on empty and with so many
injuries and no chance to rotate. I could be wrong but
Huddersfield played their pitch well and deserved the win.

I was going to say the same, we just looked in my opinion that
we have run out of steam. All the lads who have been brought in
to cover for the injured players are giving their all, but they
are not of the quality of our first choice 15, at least, not at
the moment.

Shame about the result but on balance I think we have had a very
positive season.
I think we have learned that this is a highly challenging and
competitive league and it will take a big squad full of quality
to win the league next year if that is what we want.
It is nice to be on the right side of results more than not
which has been quite rare for us over the last 5 or so seasons.
Good to hear that the lads have verbally agreed to next year. It
would be great to see us retain a squad and coaching team for a
good few seasons. It seems a lot of these clubs have a good core
that are committed to their clubs and local areas. Hopefully
that is something we can build ourselves.
