If that team sticks together we could well bound straight back
up. The weather conditions in the second half were more
favourable to Bristol than they were to us in the first half. We
just ran out of steam. But the most telling thing about today
was that if that Bristol team goes up to the Prem they will come
straight back down again. Very unimpressed with them. And as for
the Ref and the touch judges I will hold my tongue. the touch
judges were just not interested in what was going on, on the
pitch. Very poor!

Good performance from the lads; the scoreline flattered Bristol
even if the result was probably right. They had a lot of
possession and I think the tackle stats might be a bit one sided
too.
They definitely got the luck. As Simon said, we played the
first half into a blizzard and went in only 6-0 down. Second
half, the sun came out, the wind dropped and Bris had an easier
time of it.
Their first try came from an unfortunate bounce of a rugby ball.
(Their second was a good try)
The one-armed Mr Wigglesworth didn't help our cause as usual.
When the weather briefly deteriorated in the second half, for a
few minutes we looked like we could win it.
Jake Henry looked very effective. He was noticed by their
commentator. Let's hope he doesn't join the large cohort of
Championship players heading down that way for next season.

Score line didn't reflect the game. Very harsh on us. First half
I thought we coped very well and should have scored early on but
mauled over the dead ball line because of the snow. Pat Lam
wanted to call it off at half time and had a very long chat with
Sir. Second half we got absolutely nothing from the ref (good
old Tim W looking after the prem elect) and their second try was
a blatant knock on which the touch on the cricket square side
must have seen but he couldn't bother his arse to flag it up to
(makes you wonder why they are miked up). Draw your own
conclusions from that.
I know it was a terrible day to try and play rugby but if
Bristol play like that next year they'll get eaten alive !

your are course quite right to suggest that the Bristol team you
saw yesterday would struggle in the Prem and would be favourites
to come back down , indeed we have had similar comment from
opposing supporters after just about every game we have played
this season .
The point you all miss is that will not be the team that feature
next term with many of yesterdays squad being replaced by much
better players already announced and others reportedly on the
way , yesterdays team were still good enough to beat you by 21
points in atrocious conditions imagine what it would have been
on a dry sunny day .
Anyway I wish you well , it will take a miracle to avoid the
drop and as the likes of Plymouth and Moseley will tell you once
you are down its very hard to get back up , again good luck .

I’ve heard it all before about how great Bris. are. I suspect
they have a slightly better chance of surviving next year than
we do this year.

Got that Airdog.
Must be a real kick in the teeth for those in the current squad
who have done the hard yards and the graft and are to be
replaced by 'much better players'.
Remember what happened to London Welsh last time they were
promoted and then discarded most of their squad !
Yup we lost by 21 points but the conditions were the same for
both teams but the second half officiating wasn't. Still we're
used to that this season.
Promotion looks like a done deal for you and I wish you all the
best for next season.....just have to hope that the open cheque
book doesn't run out of pages.

Jake, you are bang on there regarding London Welsh! As we all
know we had a very similar experience last time we were
promoted. Lost key players like Ramiro Pez, Alfie Tooala etc and
tried to build a team from scratch. Towards the end of the
season we became competitive but blindly throwing money at them
Pem always work. The Exeter model has to be the one to look at,
build a TEAM that only needs a few additions in key areas to
survive then spend money on moving up the Prem table after
survival is secured.
I wish Bristol all the best next year and hope they manage to
survive. Hopefully it helps to keep the relegation / promotion
system alive.
Shame about the result and now relegation looks certain unless
some miraculous circumstances take place but we are completely
at the mercy of Scottish and the bonus point system. Here's to
hoping!
P.S. if relegated, here is to regular rugby and visiting some
new clubs!
