According to Roths Facebook Post there is a video that shows the
ball going over the cross bar.
Can the club appeal this decision? I think it would be unfair if
we can't. Seems like the ref may have been easily swayed and to
overturn the touch judges who were right next to the posts does
undermine their jobs a bit.
Credit to the lads for fighting till the last second.

Interesting take. I suppose with competitive sport there is
always going to be bias from both sides. Interesting for him to
claim our final try was short. Did anyone see that?
I wonder if the video of the kick will be posted?

There's a report of the game on the Clubs official site, part
of which says ---------
"The match ended in a 10- 10 draw on a heavy pitch, but the
Titans frustration was heightened when VIDEO FOOTAGE emerged to
clearly show the ball had GONE OVER THE BAR LEGITIMATELY".
If both assists raised their flags, that says that they both saw
the ball go Between the Posts and Over the Bar. The fact that
the Luctonians players disagreed should be immaterial. Did the
Referee say that HE SAW THE BALL GO UNDER THE BAR.
Why, has one report says, did one of the Assists change his mind
after the Ref spoke to him.
If this was an End of Season, Mid Table game, then maybe there
wouldn't be much controversy, but as it stands this needs to be
cleared up, whether in our favour or not.

Completely agree Winger. If it genuinely did dip under the bar
then that is completely fair enough and a draw it is. However if
footage shows the ball made it over then we deserve the extra 2
points. Particularly when both touch judges put their flags up.
I would say this if the boot was on the other foot too and Lucs
were in our position. Our game is built on fair play and good
sportsmanship or at least it should be. This seems like we have
strayed from those principals a little bit. Understand the lucs
players contesting it but it shouldn't sway the officials
decision.
Should any team be able to influence the decisions of the
referee? Particularly such a pivotal decision. Personally I
don't think so.
Feels a bit like the end of the last season in Nat 1 when we
were controversially relegated and also a bit like when we were
denied promotion to the Prem in the early 2000's..... I will put
my tin foil hat down for a bit :D
I'm sure the club will be fighting for us behind the scenes.
Whether or not it makes a difference I don't know.

Unfortunately their is 100% certainty that this will not be
overturned, has it ever happened before in any game rugby,
football etc ? The refs decision is normally final !

Right here we go I was stood directly behind the posts when matt
took the conversion which definitely went under the crossbar
also stood along side me were various people that are among
rotherham officials immediately we all looked at each other in
disbelief that the ball went under the crossbar and the
officials raised their flags to confirm the conversion. I have
also seen the video that is circulating showing the ball going
over the crossbar the mind boggles on that point .strangley
enough the luctoins people we spoke to after the game accepted
this and where solely interested in having a good time socially
and happy to move on considering the conditions honours even I
thing .

In todays Rugby Paper the reporter says, "As Minogue took the
kick the Referee was standing directly behind him". I suppose
that this was the perfect position to see where the Ball went.
If the Ball went under the bar, I can't understand why the
Assists both put their flags up, it will remain a mystery.
EAGLE, in his post said, "I was standing behind the posts and
the ball definitely went Under the bar". He then says, "I have
seen the Video that is circulating showing the ball going Over
the Crossbar". Bloody Hell it's like an episode of the X
FILES. Maybe we should sent for Mulder and Scully to help to
sort this out.
I think I'll just except that we got 2pts for the Draw and move
on, looking forwards to our game against Stourbridge at Home on
Saturday.
