Excellent performance.
When I saw the big, wide plastic pitch, I thought it would suit
them much more than us. But the first half performance was the
best this year, I think. Our gain line defence kept them bottled
up and then we were clinical. A big factor for me was that we
destroyed their line out. That got us possession in good areas,
but also made them scrum it at penalties because they didn't
want to kick to touch.
Second half, Stourbridge upped their intensity. They had a
couple of very quick backs. They were drop kicking conversions
to save time to try to close the gap. It felt a bit edgy when we
went down to 14 and they scored a couple of tries very quickly.
Then came a fantastic solo try from Connor Field - caught the
drop-out, ran across the 22 then straightened, shrugged off a
couple of tackles and danced through for the try.
Good game management for the last few minutes. Well done all.
Big game at Hull.

The Hull game is looking crucial and may we prove to be a season

Thanks for the highlights Setter.
Can't ask for more than that, huge response and a massive
marker laid down.
Sounds like things came together at the right time and under
difficult circumstances on their vide artificial pitch.
Well done to the boys and the coaches.
Hull away is the crucial game of the season. A win there and we
have a great chance of winning the league.
We just need to try keep collecting the bonus points up towards
the end of the year as it might well come down to a handful of
points.
Great to get 5 points from a game in hand and close the gap on
Hull.
Let's get 5 next week at home to Hull I's

I agree that in the first half we were impressive, we stopped
them playing and took control all over the park. As the
scoreline suggests, much closer second half with Stour making
more use of the wide pitch and their quick backs. Their 11 was
electric when we gave him space. A great game to watch, and a
nice set-up down there.
