It’s alright for you soft lads stuck out there on wing, pack
lads have to work their fingers to the bone in engine room and
have to find some “dark arts” just to survive the day🤕 !

When I arrived at Rotherham Rugby Club as a Player in 1964, I
was a Second Row Forward. During my games in both the 2nd XV and
1st XV I have played Second Row, Back Row and No8. Because
there were no Subs in my day, on the odd occasion if a Prop had
to go off I moved up to the Front Row.
In the Backs I played 1 game at 15, quite a few at 13 but the
majority at 14.
I eventually stopped playing in the Forwards as I didn't want to
lose my Good Looks, also I got fed up with my Hair being Ruffled
up as it used to take me 15mins before each game to style it.
It was hard playing on the Wing, in one game I got my Shirt torn
and broke a Finger Nail.
Believe me, both I and every other Back knows the amount of Hard
Graft that is put in by the Ugly Boys, Ever Game.
PS What position did you play.

Never played the game winger ! Nearest I got to it was went I
went to Bewdley outdoor school in Patel Bridge ? We had a hybrid
game between West and South Yorkshire ie You played football but
people could rugby tackle you, it came as quite a shock ?
But I understand the friendly conflict between backs and
forwards !
