Sheffield Tigers Game Off Tomorrow

Rotherham Titans v Sheffield Tigers game, scheduled for tomorrow
has been postponed due to concerns in the Sheffield Tigers camp
regarding Covid 19.
News of when the fixture will be played will follow in due
course.

According to Tigers announcement there's no covid there they
just don't want to take the risk of playing the match.

From Tigers announcement
Given the current covid concerns the RFU has given clubs the
ability to postpone fixtures and we have decided to take this
option.
Given the proximity of this fixture to the Christmas break and
having taken advise from public health experts we feel it is the
best decision for the wellbeing of players and supporters of
both clubs.

So disappointed that the game is off tomorrow. :(
Was looking forward to the last home game of the year.
We are living in unprecedented times and I'm sure that the
decision wasn't taken lightly.
At the moment there are three other games off in our league,
with a host of games throughout the leagues system postponed
also.
Let's hope that OMICRON-B [anagram of NO CRIMBO] takes it's
leave quickly and we can try and get back to normal times soon.

That is a shame was looking g forward. Deciding between Ionians
Hull or Donaster v Coventry. Mind you at £10 Doncaster looks
good value for the Championship. However Ionians s Hull is
tempting. Decisions

OMICRON = MORONIC
BY THE TIME WE PLAY SEDGLEY ON JANUARY 8TH IT WILL BE 4 WEEKS
SINCE OUR LAST GAME, NOT A GREAT SCENARIO, IT WILL BE LIKE
STARTING THE SEASON AGAIN.
LETS HOPE THAT THE SQUAD ARE FIT AND RARING TO GO WHEN THAT
GAME COMES AROUND. I'M SURE WE WILL BE.

Would have to say that is a very poor decision and it should not
have been left to one club to make that decision ! It should
have been agreed between both clubs and the RUFC.
This type of unilateral decision is destroying the credibility
of the game and treating the fans with contempt, not to mention
a huge loss of revenue to our club ? With no doubt costs
incurred to food already brought in and many other sundry costs.
It’s leaving the situation open to abuse, who’s to say Tigers
just don’t fancy a demoralising defeat to take into xmas ! it’s
just plain wrong ! if they had got Covid then that is fine, but
this is just not “cricket” !

Interestingly there is NO MENTION on Sheffield Tigers web page
about the cancellation of the game. All they seem to publishing
is their new pitch. I would think the cancellation was bigger
news than this !!!!
