I am not in the know about these sort of things, but the timings
would suggest that the appointment of the new coach was in the
pipeline well before the announcement of Steve Salvin's
departure.
I am a big admirer of Steve Salvin and his work for us over the
years. I still remember him down at touch rugby sessions with
Lee Blackett and Swifty down on the playing fields.
I think he will be missed but wish him all the best.

I am really sorry to hear this. It is very difficult for
Rotherham to hold onto successful coaches but this one seems to
be particularly bizarre and unexpected. He was doing a great job
for us this season so I wonder what I am missing I this. I wish
Steve well.

Sorry to see Steve go. He brought back stability to the club and
we looked to be building a good foundation for the future. I
hope there is no bad blood as Steve has done such an amazing job
for us over the years. He very nearly saved us in our last
season in Nat 1.
All the best to Steve for the future and thankyou for all your
hard work!
Steve will be missed.

Rucko’s post above is a straight lift from Steve Salvins
LinkedIn account. Has he been pushed? I certainly hope not.
Steve Salvin has been the best thing for this club in years
apart from Lee Blackett.

The Club will release a statement when they are ready to
-------------- BUT
Steve was not pushed nor did he leave with any animosity between
him and the Club. It was his decision to go.
Once he had decided to leave the Club, the Club looked for a
replacement for him, hence the signing of Andy Byrom.
This is all you need to know. The Club has NOT been at fault
during this time.
I hope I'm not in trouble with the Club for posting this, but
this is to stop any adverse rumours spreading.

Great to hear Winger. The club has done an amazing job to steady
the ship this season and bring back the positivity.
It is a shame about Steve but I'm sure the Club will have picked
the best man to replace him.
We have a great set of players this season with plenty of wise
heads to lead us through this transitional period. Onwards and
upwards.

Then it must be that he found another job with another club,
handed his notice in, hence the appointment of a new coach. The
new job for Steve has fallen through, hence the bizarre
circumstances words.
