That was another heart in mouth game. We really need to switch
on faster in the first half and stop playing catch-up. If we
dominate in the first 40 we can crush opponents moral and make
our second half performance even better. The one major positive
to take from these first six games though is they have all been
against teams in the top of the table so we should get easier
games up to Christmas.

Great fun but not good for my coronary arteries.
Interesting refereeing.

Great game today. Very entertaining!
Hull played very well and will have a good season. Our pack were
very strong and we have good ball carries all over the pitch.
We made a few silly errors which lead to a few soft tries which
when ironed out will make us a formidable side in this league.
Once we have filled in a few gaps, tightened our defence and got
the backs firing we will be unstoppable. We need to work on
getting into the game from the get go. We get stronger as the
game develops but we seem to be taking a while to get going.
This will improve over time!
Key to a championship winning side is to win, even when you
don't play your best. We certainly did that today.
All in all a great game, very entertaining. Hull Ioanions have a
beautiful facility, friendly staff and a strong, well balanced
team.
Great Saturday afternoon!

Great result from yet another very entertaining game. We're not
going short of excitement this season.
For me, the turning point was Matt Challinor's yellow. There
seemed to be a feeling that it was not justified and when he
came back on, the intensity of the play notched up a few levels.
For the next 5 minutes, we looked unstoppable. It started again
in the second half and we looked very strong.
Both of their tries came from the new rule changes around
kicking. One was a 50-22 kick and the other was when we had to
drop out from our line instead of the 22. I know these rules are
supposed to encourage open rugby by creating gaps when defenders
have to stay back, but all they are promoting at the moment is
booting it as far as you can and getting some reward for it.
Like we need more of that in the game. Add to that, we were
attacking when they got the ball and did the 50 - 22, so if
attackers have to stay back to cover the kick, there is no one
to find the new gaps, so pointless.
Having said that, the rules are here, so we have to use them as
well. I thought that with Lloyd Hayes at 10, we could have a
powerful weapon in the new 50 - 22 era. I don't understand why
Lloyd is not given the place kicking duties from the start. He
is not perfect, but I would guess his stats this year are a lot
better than anyone else's.
Another excellent afternoon's entertainment and 5 more points in
the bag against a top-end team. Well done all.

I thought that during this match Lloyd really had the
opportunity to demonstrated the qualities he has as a player and
why he used to play in The Championship. During the previous
match’s that i have watched I have thought that he didn’t
exhibit the X factor. This certainly changed for me today. His
tactical kicking was impressive, and his ability to jink past
players a pleasure to watch. I hope that this continues
