Relieved to win. Bournville must be very disappointed. Our
defence is pretty poor. Again they had very lively backs.
We left several points behind due to less than average goal
kicking.
Great to see a good crowd enjoying a late summer afternoon.
Onwards and hopefully upwards.

Looked like a close game. We seem to be leaking a lot of points
but a win is a win and we must keep winning what ever the score.
I'm sure the defense will start to tighten up over time but we
don't want to be kicking ourselves at the end of the year if
poor defense costs us promotion.
As for the kicking, we really need to get that sorted out as I'm
sure there will be plenty more tight games ahead. Could be the
difference.
Good result boys. Keep going. Keep working!

We missed 5 conversion kicks today.
Today's game was a great advertisement for Div 2 Rugby. Our
Forwards showed great strength and power, Bournville's Backs
showed great skill and guile.
After the first 10 mins I thought that we were going to walk
this game, Bournville had only been over the Half-Way line
twice, from two Penalty kicks, and our Lads stole the ball from
both Line-Outs. It was then basically our Forwards scored a
Try followed by their Backs scoring a Try. The difference was
the Goal Kicking.
When they went 1 pt in front with the time hitting 80 mins, I
thought only 2 pts when it should have been 5 pts. With time
running out we were awarded a Scrum about 15 Mt's from their
line, could we do it, it was a long way to try and push them
back to their line, so could we get quick ball and run it in.
The Scrum was going nowhere, how much time left, then the
Scrum broke, last chance gone, but NO, the Ref put his arm up
and awarded US the Penalty.
Lloyd Hayes put the ball on the Tee, could he keep his nerve,
paced backwards and looked up at the Posts, it seemed an age,
then he moved forward and struck the ball, the ground was
silent, the cheer that broke the silence when the ball sailed
between the posts would have been heard in Bournville.
We had Won by 2 pts. This was a game in which 94 pts were
scored but the result was settled in added on time.

Not been able to get as yet dueto completi g my commitments with
bowling at Armthorpe. From Reading g posts so far, some things
seem to be popping up.
Leaking g tries due to defense.
Our forwards seem to be bossing but refs don't always recognise.
We have missed a lot of points from the boot.
References to the opposition backs bei g lively and giving ours
a hard time.
However I also think k we have played two of the teams that will
be in the mix at the end. I think we will improve from here.
Roll on October my first visit this season.
