Contrasting Pathways

Doesn’t seem that long since we were playing off against Bristol
at Abbeydale for a place in the premiership ! Now they are sat
six points clear at the top of that league with a game in hand
and we are four divisions lower without having played for that
long I can’t even remember our last match ? Who would have
predicted that ?

I am afraid that is all down to MONEY!!!. They have lots of it
and we have not a lot

Yes it is down to money, it is also a bigger rugby area with
less alternatives than us.
When you think we have The Millers, Sheff Weds, Sheff U, Sheff
Steelers, Sheff Eagles to contend with for fans. Then a bit
further out Barnsley FC, Donny Rovers and Knights plus others to
contend with, all of a sudden our catchment area for fans
becomes quite small and niche.
In Bristol you have 2 football clubs and the bears between 450
000+ people! Obviously there are other teams around Bristol but
the potential share of the fans is much larger than ours!
