What a difference in this team over the last few weeks. Perhaps
coaching change should have been a bit earlier.
Excellent performance with our last try the best at the Lane
this year.

We played well today,
The pack stood up well and when we used our backs they looked
deadly at times. Jamie Cooke looked excellent at 13, I have no
idea why he hasn't been played. Breaking the line, drawing men
and offloading, solid tackles and set up at least 1 of our
tries. Will Thomas suited the wing, he came in pitch at times
looking for the ball, covered full back when Caolon entered the
line and scored a fine try. Drew Cheshire had another good game
on the wing, scored a good try. He reminds me a bit of John
Feeley, great finisher and a really gritty player. Caolon Ryan
was superb at full back, good tackles and didn't drop a ball.
Rhodri as always was excellent.
Toby Williams carried very well and didn't drop the ball. Johny
Murphy had a good game, he has good hands. James Lasis has
really improved, away at Donny he was completely out of his
Depth but today he had a solid game. Andrew Foster was solid in
the scrum, Rob Louw had a good all round game, he nicked one or
two of their lineouts. Adam Peters had a good game again, he has
been a bit of an unsung hero this year he always plays well it's
unfortunate we haven't played like this all year as I think he
would have premiership interest.
Lee Millar had some great moments, set up fantastic try with a
little chip over the top and he really got stuck in defensively
however his decision making lets him down at times. I think
sometimes he feels the pressure and he rushes as he messed up a
simple free kick but he did make up for it. My advice to him
would be to slow down a bit when he has a free kick / penalty
and think it through. I'm really not convinced by Calla at 8, he
doesn't really break the line or make yards and he misses quite
a few tackles. He got a yellow which i don't think he deserved
and also gave away a silly penalty for crossing which gave them
an easy 3 points. He leads well and the lads obviously respect
him but for me Tom Burns has more to offer both in offence and
defence.
For me we could ran away with that game but we allowed them to
drag us into a scrappy game, too much kicking and still missed
key tackles. Gifted them two very soft tries. Overall the
defence was better but we still need to be up in their faces
much quicker. When we use the backs we are dangerous but all to
often there we props and second rows in the backline slowing
things down.
All in all a brilliant game and a well deserved first win.
Excellent perseverance and determination.
Well done to the boys, hope they enjoy a hard earned drink this
evening.

Echo that - I am hoping we can keep the heart of this team for
next season and we will bounce straight back up.
