Nine games undefeated. Good Win, Good Score, Good 5pts and
+24 pts on our pts difference. I thought this was a good
performances from our Lads but I'll guarantee that Baz saw quite
a few things for the Squad to work on. Four or five times we
were on Tynedale's try-line but ' gave the ball up too easily ',
to many Penalties conceded mainly for going over the top /
laying on, at the Breakdown and still to many catches fumbled.
We were better all round than Tynedale but they never stopped
Battling away from the Kick-off to the Final Whistle. At times
they broke our line too easily and only Good tackling prevented
them getting closer to our line. We have so much more potential
to be achieved, and it will come.
It was pleasing to see our Lads get over the line six times, and
in the next five games we need to see more of that.
A mauled try from Stout to open the scoring then three Good
backs Trys from Clarke and Lewis, particularly Lewis's second, a
sprint from the Half-Way Line. Donker's Try was the quickest I
can remember from a Sub who had just entered the field, tho
someone might know better.
It shows we can find our way to the Try Line without a Sat-Nav.
I hope that after a few more coaching sessions with Baz and Matt
Smith they'll be able to find it Blindfolded.
After all I've said, it was three weeks since our last game and
quite a few Players had missed Training Sessions for various
reasons.

Ten games undefeated. Excellent Win, Excellent Scoreline,
Excellent 5pts and + 66 on our Pts difference. This is a great
habit we've pick up.
As Chris said on another post, a good mix of Try's between Backs
and Forwards. Six Try's from the Backs warms my Heart. In a
good open game of Rugby it should be the Backs who run in most
of the Try's. I wonder if our new Coaches methods are starting
to bear fruit. Weather permitting it should be a similar
scoreline next Saturday at Home to Huddersfield. Indeed our
next 3 games SHOULD be walks in the Park.
We've now completed a third of our seasons games and are in a
very good position. The Lads have shown that they have the
Skill and Determination to battle right to the end of games.
Other than Blaydon and Loughborough we've struggled in periods
of all other games, but finished strongly to gain the result.
The thing we need now is Consistency, something that's not
always easy to achieve, but the Club(s) that maintains it the
longest will be the most successful.
Let's hope now that the Weather is kind over the next few weeks,
Rain will come, and so will Snow. Light falls of Snow can be
coped with, its the frozen ground that's the Killer of games.
Fingers Crossed.

Eleven games undefeated. We are now the only undefeated Club
in the League, keep it going Lads.
Due to the Weather we knew it wasn't going to be a Free Flowing
game, but I think that both Teams coped with the conditions
better than I thought they would.
I believe that if the conditions were a lot better then we would
have scored a Hat-Full of Try's. The conditions were certainly
a leveller.
On a day like this the main achievement was accomplished, we
got the Win and the Bonus Point.
For any of us who have played Rugby, we know what it's like to
play in conditions like today. The pitch was badly cut up and
the players, particularly the Forwards, legs must have felt like
lead weights well before the end. Well done to both Teams for
coping with this.
What was happening in the first 15mins, or more, of the
second-half. We couldn't get out of our 22, we must have
conceded 7 or 8 penalties and had 2 players sent to the Bin.
I was standing on the top step, on the half-way line, in the
Shed. I hadn't got the foggiest idea what was going on, and
still don't. I do know that the Ref had to go to Hospital after
the game suffering from repetitive strain injury in his
shoulder, from constantly shooting his Left Arm into the air.
I don't want to say much about the Referees performance other
than " This wasn't his finest hour "
On to next Week away to Harrogate and hoping that the Weather is
kinder, and certainly expecting another 5 pointer.

It started with a missed kick to touch from a penalty. Instead
of having a line out in their 22, we found ourselves back on our
try line.
Then it got compounded by some inconsistent officiating. We gave
a number of penalties away and he binned someone. But when we
were getting continuous scrum penalties on their line early
doors, he didn't even give a warning, let alone a card.
But the right result in the end; 5 points to us and none to
them.

Twelve games undefeated. Harrogate + Rotherham + The Weather =
A poor game. Two consecutive games where the Weather played a
big part in the standard of play.
Despite the Weather and the effect it had on the game, our Lads
came through it and achieved the required outcome, a 5pts Win,
just the same as last week.
For all of you watching the game it must have been a real Nail
Biter. When we scored the Bonus Point Try in added on time
I'll bet that your Lungs showed the relief you felt. I'm sure
it was an Happy journey home.
A few weeks ago we were struggling to pick up Bonus points, now
we seem to have picked up the habit of gaining them. The
Weather could be the same on Saturday at Home to Sheffield
Tigers. They have W6 and L7 so far this season. If the
conditions are Good then I think that we will have a convincing
Victory, but if they are bad, then ??.
I was at the Club on Saturday with my Brother-in-Law, we
followed the game on Twitter while Drinking Beer and Eating
Sausage Breadcakes. Including the result it was a good day for
us. At least we kept dry, well on the outside anyway.
Let's shout and cheer the Lads to a Victory to take us into the
two weeks break.

With 2021 coming to an end it's time to reflect on our season so
far. With our current record standing at W 11 - D 1 - L 0, we
are still the only undefeated Club in the League.
To me this says that we have had a very successful season so
far. We have had a few close games which at some point could
have gone either way, but our Lads showed Heart, Determination
and a Never Say Die attitude that saw them close these games out
to successful conclusion's.
Current Top 5
Pld W D L Pts
Hull 14 12 0 2 59
Sedgley 14 11 1 2 58
Stourbridge 13 11 0 2 56
Rotherham 12 11 1 0 55
Fylde 15 11 0 4 53
January 8th 2022
Rotherham v Sedgley Park
Hull v Stourbridge
Loughborough v Fylde
Losing Salvo could have knocked the Club back a bit, but with
the signing of Adam (Baz) Byron from Sheffield, the Club
continued it's Winning run. Baz has brought in some small
changes to our Method and Style of play and I'm sure that we'll
see more of this as we move into 2022.
We still have a few tough games to come against our Top 5
opponents and to pick up points against these will be a big
bonus.
Sedgley (H) Fylde (H) Stourbridge (A) Stourbridge (H) Hull
(A)
I can certainly see the Top 5 positions changing weekly through
to the end of the season and really hope that the season is
decided on the field of play and not by Covid.
I don't think any of us want to go through that Scenario again.
Whatever happens it will be a Roller-coaster of a ride, right to
the end of the season. Lets hope that the beginning of 2022
see's all our players Fit, Healthy and raring to go for the
tough Battles to come.

Thirteen games undefeated. I couldn't get to the game but
agree with Chris, it was certainly nerve wracking following it
on Twitter.
At half-time and 13 - 0 up I was certainly feeling that the game
could be ours. It didn't read that we were having it all our
own way and Sedgley had chances to score.
Once again it sounds like the Weather played a big part in the
game, but that's the same for both sides. Sedgley did manage to
outscore us by 2T to 1T but as in all games its the team with
the most points on the board at the end that gets the spoils.
Maybe we had a bit of luck when the Sedgley kicker missed the
Conversion that could have won them the game, but luck in games
goes both ways and yesterday, thankfully it went ours.
Agree with other posters, that the games against Hull (A ) and
Stourbridge ( H + A ) could be the defining games this season.
After the Hull game our remaining run of games lookes easy in
comparison.
When looking at what Hull did to Stourbridge yesterday it might
give our Lads a good feeling for the Stourbridge games, but
nightmares for the Hull game. One thing is certain they should
be cracking games to watch.
Whatever we think of the season so far we are in a good position
going forwards.

Fourteen games undefeated. This games was a lot closer than we
expected and although we had the majority of possession and
territory it could have gone either way.
With 6 mins remaining we were 5 mts from the Bournville try
line and with a one man overlap we should have scored, but our
pass was intercepted and the Win was lost.
So from what could have been the game winning score we ended up
all square.
Results are what they are, and the Coach / Squad will have
discussed it, so that game is now in the History Books.
On to the next game, at Home to Blaydon. This has got to be a
high scoring and Bonus point Win, to take us into the Away game
at Fylde. We MUST go in to this game full of Confidence.
We still have games in hand over the four Clubs around us, but
these will be meaningless unless we Win them. We must also
start to pick up more Bonus points. Of the current Top 7 Clubs
we have accumulated the least.
Pld Bp's Pts
Hull 16 13 69
Sedgley 16 14 64
Fylde 17 11 63
Titans 14 9 61
Stour 15 13 61
Ionians 16 10 46
Lough 16 12 36
We have a few awkward games to come, but with 16 games left to
play there will be quite a few twists and turns to come before
the Positions in this League are Finalised.
The lowest position we can afford to finish in is 2nd, then we
would have a two game play-off against the Club that finishes
2nd in Nat 2 South. Please let's hope that we don't have to
negotiate that path.

What you say is true, Winger.
If you break down the bonus points, it gives a slightly
different picture:
Team P TBP LBP Total BP
Hull 16 12 2 14
Sedgley 16 10 3 14
Fylde 17 10 1 11
Roth 14 9 0 9
Stourb. 15 12 1 13
We don't have losing bonus points because we haven't lost, and
on Try Bonus Points we are slightly behind but have played less
games. Doesn't take away the need to keep getting the try bonus
points though.

Fifteen games undefeated. A welcome 5pts today as the other
four Clubs around us all picked up 5pt Wins. A good 9 tries
scored and we still should have scored another 4.
Our forwards certainly had the upper hand over their's from the
kick-off. Our Backs played well, but I would say that Blaydons
Backs had more of the ball to run with than ours, but apart from
a couple of times they couldn't breech our defence. I admired
Blaydon today, they very rarely kicked the Ball, preferring to
run it at every opportunity. They had been pinned on their own
line when the Ref gave them a Penalty under their posts,
instead of kicking to touch then taking the Line-Out, they
tried to run the ball out. Maybe not the way to play Rugby but
it was entertaining.
They way our Lads played and the number of Tries / pts scored
should hopefully give them some encouragement going into the
game at Fylde. It was good to see that our tries were shared
between Backs and Forwards and we scored some very good ones.
The Fylde game is not going to be an easy game but as in all
games anything can happen. This is the first of the Big 4 we
have left to play, it will not be the end of our season if we
lose, but if we win it will be a good marker to lay down.
Today's game marked the Mid point of our season. With 15 games
left to play, there will be many more Twists and Turns to come.
Let's hope we can enjoy them all.
