Looks like Joe Carlisle will be missing for our first game of
the season, his Brother is getting Married on Saturday.
Surely that's a poor excuse for missing a game, he should have
asked his Brother to get Married at 11:00, then they could all
have come to the Lane, had Pie, Chips and Peas and watched the
game. The Bride and Groom could have their photo taken with the
Team, then finished their special day off with a huge P*s* Up
in the Clubhouse.
Now that would have been a Day to remember and tell their Kids
about.

I'm really pleased with today, the players put in plenty of
effort which resulted in 5 good tries, sadly only 1 successful
conversion. In the opening 20 minutes I thought the Lads were
going to have a heavy afternoon and Wharfdale scored a good try.
But once the Titans got the Wind in there Sails it was one way
traffic, wharfdale had a few breaks but our tackling was
excellent and knocked them back. Our Backs put in some very
good passing movements but sadly we threw away 3 certain tries
by not throwing out the final pass to overlapping players, 15
pts possibly 21 were lost. We MUST take these chances.
The Forwards, in my opinion, were outstanding with lots of
really powerful play. Our ' Old Men ' Quiggs, Chall and Smithy
had excellent games knocking the Wharfdale Forwards backwards
time after time. Brilliant debut from Theo (6) battling forward
at every opportunity, a great signing. All the Forwards should
be congratulated on today's performance. These Forwards were
led by our Captain and current Mr Titan, ZAC POOLE. He is a
player who certainly leads by example. I don't normally pick
out ' favorite ' players but if I picked a player who I would
like to see stay at the Club for Life, it would be ZAC.
What happened with Mr Smith, a good collect of the Ball, a good
run forward with a tiny side-step thrown in, then with a man
overlap on either side of him he got White Line Fever but was
tackled a yard from the line, Try Lost. If Matt Smith reads
this ( he's a really big Lad ) then I think you had a great
game.
Overall a really good start to the season with some excellent
play. As well as the Four certain Tries missed, we missed 4 more
with a knock-on or forward passes, but the pleasing thing is,
THEY WERE CREATING CHANCES, carry on playing like today and
more of these created chances we take them over the Line.
Our next game is Away at Sedgley Park, they beat Harrogate
today away 21 - 51. Should be a cracking game next Saturday.

Just looked at the first week's League tables. All the Winning
Clubs in Div 2N and Div 2S have 4 pts.
The top 4 Clubs in Div 1 have 5 pts, so 4 pts for the Win plus a
Bonus Point.
Have the BBC got it wrong or are Bonus Points not awarded in
Division 2 ?
I thought Bonus Points were awarded in all the Leagues.

Two games undefeated, it's still early days but we have shown
that we have the Power, the Skill, the Strength and the
Players to give us the best chance of a Promotion Season in a
LONG time. Last week's Gate of 531 was a good start, let's hope
we can maintain a Gate of 500+. Each Win we gain has the
potential to increase Gate numbers.
Last Saturday there was a great atmosphere in the Clubhouse,
before and after the game. There was a Buzz, and everyone's
spirits were lifted from that one result, what will it be like
when we get another few Wins.
Hope we have a Decent Winter and Boris doesn't decide to have
another Lock-Down.

Three games undefeated. Bournville are a good team, so it was
a fantastic Win to come away with, but it could have been so
different. To Win with a Penalty Goal in the forth minute of
extra time was the tightest finish I can remember for a long
time. But that games gone and its on to Blaydon, away next
Saturday.
Blaydon have lost their opening three games but have picked up
two losing bonus points, so these games have been close. On
paper it should be a good Win for the Titans but there must be
no way for complacency.
Bournvilles Forwards had no answer to ours, but their Backs ran
through us for too easily, a concern that must be addressed.
A good start to the season, let's keep it going.

Four games undefeated. Maybe not the best first-half we've
played losing 17 - 12. But what a comeback scoring 37
unanswered points in a scintillating second-half.
Has as already been said on another thread, if only we could
come out of the blocks sprinting instead of waiting for our
second Wind to kick in.
Having said that, there can be no complaints when the Lads
scored 49pts and picked up a another great Win + another bonus
point.
Next week at Home to Fylde who beat Harrogate today 80 - 26.
They scored 12 tries and conceded 4, which shows that their try
line can be crossed.
They obviously have a good team but next week, with our 16th man
behind them, I think that we'll Win what could be a very close
fought battle.
Both Sedgley and Bournville had good wins today, next week they
play against each other at Bournville and this game should be
another close encounter.

Five games undefeated. Another excellent result today played
in atrocious weather conditions. First half close, but our
Lads got the upper hand in the second half and at the end ran
out worthy winners by 3 tries to 1. Again an excellent
performance from our Forwards with tries from Bustin 2 and Stout
1. Good first up tackling from our Backs and a better kick
conversion rate from Westy. It will be another tough game next
Saturday at Ionians but we are on a roll, let's keep it going.

Six games undefeated, but what is it with our Lads and 1st
halfs. Again a great result, 17 - 5 down at Half-Time but
again showed their resilience to stage a Winning fight back and
take the game. Maybe some Referring decisions that our Lads
disagreed with but we have to take them on the chin and keep
battling.
Ionians are a good side so this result is a Big feather in our
cap. Our Lads do make a Daft decision now and again, but then
which team doesn't.
They have the abilities to lift themselves off the floor and
show that they are capable of Winning this League. They are
getting stronger and more cohesive game on game.
We are in a good place, but with 24 games left to play its going
to be a Slog and not a Sprint to the finish line.
We have to hope that our game missing injuries are kept to a
minimum.
Next week at Home to Luctonians, a Team that on League Standing
SHOULD be a Home Banker, but there can be no less than a Full-On
performance. We need to improve our points difference has this
could prove to be important come the seasons end.
Well done to the Lads for today's performance and result. Just
Lets hope that they come out of the blocks from the off next
week.

As a Donny fan it’s great to see some of our former players
still turning it on for Roth. I’ve been following Rotherham’s
progress and to be unbeaten after 6 games is fantastic given you
have played most of the top teams. Keep it going lads, hope you
go up.
