Heard from a friend of mine who lives in, and supports
Doncaster. Matt Challinor and Matt Smith have both signed for
the Titans for 2021 / 22.
Matt Smith is not coming back to us as a Coach, but just as a
Player.
Now start licking your lips at the prospect of those two forming
a Second Row partnership.
Also still looks like the majority of our players signed for
this season will still be with us for next season. Shouldn't
be too long now before names will be announced by the Club.
I'm sure you will all be smiling soon.

The NCA have laid out the pathway back to playing Rugby. This
is taken from the Governments report on returning to playing
sport.
National League Clubs returned to training last week. There can
be Contact Training but without Scrums and Mauls. Contact
sessions must not exceed 20 minutes.
April 26 Games can take place under Adapted Laws.
May 17 Return to Full contact training.
May 31 Full contact games can potentially be played.
June 21 All Government restrictions could come to an end.
All sounds good, unless Mr Covid 19 decides to step in again and
ruin it.

Has of today we have our squad for this year signed up, 16
Forwards and 13 Backs, plus the University Lads.
This is a Good, Strong squad who I'm sure will give us plenty to
shout about. Lots of our players have played in many, many
games in the Championship and so have lots of experience at an
higher level than they will be playing in this season. Also our
ex Doncaster lads will have the advantage of playing together
for a number of seasons.
The next few weeks, upto our first friendly game will drag for
me, I'll be counting the days. Of course Sept 4th is the date
to count down to and if anything happens, again, to delay the
seasons start, I'd be tearing my Hair out, if I had any.
Anyway it's fingers crossed that the season starts on time and
we have a very good, and successful campaign. Our Captain for
this season, whoever he is, will be alright with me, as long has
he leads like Wellington and not Custer.

Not sure we have enough props ? We normally have six ? also we
are one short in the second row ! I must assume that the
management belief a lot of these positions can be filled in with
players who are more versatile ? Ie Hookers who can play prop or
viersa vicer, and back row who can play line out !

We do have players who can play in different positions, but
don't forget we have the University Lads who would probably be
able to cover all positions.

We can’t afford what we used to have! Lots of these guys can
double up on positions and we might even see a second row
squeezing into the number 11 shirt again. (A certain Dan Cook
once played a great game as a winger!)

I recall a very enjoyable number of games when a No.8 played on
the wing. Scott Donald, I think it was.

He's stated that he wants to play Hooker, but will play at Prop
only if its Really necessary.
