SEASON 2021 / 2022

Contract talks have begun between the Club ( Martin and Steve
) and players who would have been playing for us this season.
Ideally all of them will re-sign, any of them that do sign for
us will be a bonus. I believe that most, if not all of them
will be in a Titans shirt next season.

That would be great news. We signed a great team and I was
really looking forward to watching them play.

I obviously don't know which players WILL be with us next
season, but I have every confidence that, from knowledge of
players and snippets from the Advertiser, I believe that at
least 10 of last seasons signings will definitely be with us
again. I expect more, be we will have to wait and see. As is
obvious from my past posting, I have every confidence in our
Board and in every aspect of the Titans set-up.
As long has there is a 2021 / 22 season I'm confident that we
will do well in it.

From David Beddows at the Advertiser.
Rotherham Titans look likely to launch back into competitive
action next season with many of the Players who committed to
this season.
Rotherham brought in experienced players like Michael Hills, Joe
Carlisle and Colin Quigley to mix with younger talent as part of
a drive to Win promotion back to Division One
When the season ended due to Covid 19, there were fears that
many of the players would drift away.
However the initial signs are that MOST of the players, new and
existing ones, will take up the offer of a new contract for the
2021 / 22 season.
Head Coach Steve Salvin said: " The focus at the moment is
signing the players who were with us for this season and it
looks more than likely they will all re-sign. There are still
places to fill, as there was when we were preparing for this
season, but we are quite happy to prioritising the Lads that
have already signed, and once that is done we will have a look
at filling the other places we have available in the new year.
The situation sets up the most relaxed off-season in terms of
recruitment that the Club has had in years. With around 50 per
cent of the Squad already sorted it means that we are not under
any great pressure to make any panic signings.
We are excited about the squad that we are putting together. We
knew the importance of getting experienced men in and there
might be One or Two still to come. Also there might be One or
Two young and exciting players arriving as well ".
Well I think this positive news should keep our interest ticking
over into the New Year.
Duncang ------ Get your typing finger well lubricated, hopefully
it won't be too long before it see's some action.

Now that the Government as given the go-ahead for Community
Sports to commence Training / Playing, does this mean the our
Lads are back in Training.

I'm assuming that the season won't start till September so is it
a bit early for preseason training?

I assume that non of the players have done any organised group
training for a long time. Four months from now we will (
hopefully) be playing pre season friendly games.
Unless they've all been keeping themselves fit, and not put on
any excess weight, they will need to be assessed by the Club
and as in all pre-seasons put on individual eating regimes. New
fitness regimes could be put in place for individuals before
team training commences.
Normally after a season the Lads have a few weeks off and then
its back to training. As it stands Now they will not have
played any Rugby for over 12 mths. It will be Blood, Sweat and
probably some tears before they are back to match fitness.
Four months sounds a long time but it will fly. If they are not
in training now, I don't thing it will be to long before they
are.

Whenever they start training I simply cannot wait until the time
comes for pie and chips and watching the Titans from the Shed.
Then to go to so many grounds I have not been to for a long
time, plus one of my favourite clubs to visit, Sedgeley.
