Swing Low

Apparently the RFU are looking at banning it from being sung at
England games because of it's history. Am I dim but is there
really anyone offended by it?

They’re dim if they think a ban will stop it being sung.

Apparently it was written by a slave which is why it could be
offensive to some people, thats not my view. I mean, if that is
the case then aren't we all honouring that person by singing it?
I don't see it being banned as it can't be policed. I also think
there are far bigger issues than a song at the moment! If anyone
knows the history of the song I would love to know as I would
never have thought that song to be offensive.
Crazy times.

My first recollection of the song in a rugby context, was
in1969. It was a post-game rugby song with a very graphic set
of accompanying actions.
