There seems to be a movement towards making Rugby a spring/
summer game. This may be feasible at high level but a lot of
young men who play winter rugby are into summer sports,
especially cricket. I don’t think it would be good for the game.
I can’t see how the Titans would be able to participate in such
a change with the current set up. There was a fair bit of
opposition to the use of the ground on the playing fields for
Titans matches.
Personally I love winter rugby. Life would be less interesting
without regular trips to the Lanr.

I suspect we could be facing some challenging proposed changes
to get our heads around. I think this next year could be
turbulent. Hopefully not but I suspect.

Talks have been held to look at the feasibility of aligning the
Northern and Southern Hemispheres Rugby seasons to run from
December to July. This is to make it easier to Plan and Play
Inter-Hemisphere Internationals. I can see this happening
eventually, but only for the Top Level Clubs.
Has you have said supporter, in reallity this won't be
feasible for Clubs below the top level. It's hard enough
getting supporters thro the gates as it is, without all the
Summer Sports, 2 week Hollidays and weekend trips to the Coast
with the Kids to compete with. During the Winter months with
less distractions, watching a live game of Rugby can be the
highlight of the week.
Rugby below the Premiership is not a priority for the RFU, so
they will do what is best for them. As long as they leave
Grassroots Rugby as it is, then I don't care.
