I don’t no why I was hoping a quicker return than December but
we can but dream . Playing December to July could have two
important features for lower league clubs in my opinion. (Point
one )We all know playing on hard ground causes more injuries so
march to July would be a scary time for clubs not wanting to
loose to many players and due to funding and budget cuts not all
clubs may have the size of squads they had last season . (point
two ) how would this work for the 21/22 season as July is pre
season so would they expect the clubs to follow straight into
the follow season with no time off and hardly any time for new
players to come in and settle . Then you have the issue of clubs
sharing with cricket how is that going to work for clubs , some
interesting issues ahead to be worked out

Im not sure we will even start then. I think there is a good
chance we may have to wait until next September or as you say it
will mess up the season after. We haven't seen the worst of the
virus yet and if we loosen restrictions too soon then it will
all flair up again and from what I have been told the 2nd wave
could well be a lot worse. Are there many clubs that share with
Cricket? Or just us and a few else? Im not aware of many off the
top of my head but if it is just us then I don't think the RFU
will have no sympathy for our cause I'm afraid!

Not sure how we could continue to play at Clifton Lane when the
cricket club would need it from May to July

You would hope the Council would be sympathetic under the
circumstances and let us play on Herringthorpe?

You would Duncan. Are there any other grounds in and around
Rotherham with the facilities we would need? I suppose Millmoor
and New York Stadium will be out of the question?

       Chris
Ithink the NY stadium is definitely no go as for Millmoor the
pitch is in perfect condition but has no water no electricity
and worst of all no beer.
It needs loads of cash to make it fit for use.

Given that the Millers didn't want us when we were a top
Championship side and pulling in crowds of around 1,500, they
certainly won't want us now. I can't see any options other than
       Herringthorpe.

If you read my post properly you will see that I said NY stadium
       is a no go.
Just hope we don't end up at Abbeydale.

Abbeydale would be a shame but potentially it might be our only
option. Herringthorpe is for me is the best option with it being
next to Clifton Lane then other than that all I could find in
Rotherham was The College / Uni, Parkgate FC and Maltby Main
that might have the facilities for match day but I don't hold
out much hope if things go wrong for us timing wise. We could
come into trouble if the season starts at the wrong time. A lot
of low level football clubs have facilities of their own as well
as lower level rugby clubs, I would love to see us in that
position one day, owning our own ground with club house etc.
