Far too many Penalties given away and too much Ball kicked away.
Well beaten and unless we improve by next week it will
happen again. There was no lack of effort but no penetration
with our Backs.
Jamie George needs to be on the Bench for the last game and both
Wingers need replacing. I don't think that wholesale changes
need to be made.
It was a poor 1st half all round but at ieast the Lions won that
half 9 - 6. We then wanted a repeat of last week's second
half. The Lions decided to kick the ball away too much and
give away stupid penalties. The Africans main weapon was to
kick the ball high and chase after it. Instead of keeping the
ball in hand the Lions did the same but weren't has good at it.
The longer the half went on, the Africans got stronger and the
Lions got more desperate. The Africans converted try in the
61st minute and 3 successful penalty kicks in the last 10
minutes just rubbed Salt in already open wounds. The Africans
won the half 21 - 0.
A Big bonus would be if Faf De Klerks injurie keeps him out of
next weeks game.
All is not lost, but the Lions need to keep the ball in hand
more and run it, breakdown, run it. If you run at the Africans
they will give penalties away, it's in their nature.
I know a lots been said about Rassie Erasmus ( SA Director of
Rugby ) acting as a Water Boy last week. He's under
investigation by World Rugby as no member of a teams coaching
our management team can enter the field of play other than at
Half-Time and Full-Time.
But he was at it again yesterday, wearing a Water Boy's top he
ran onto the field at every stoppage of play, talking to the
players. Sometimes he DIDN'T have any water with him. It looked
obvious that he was Coaching. Has he's under investigation
from last week, what was going through his mind this time.
He's been condemned by several of the Worlds Unions so why not
by the SA Union.
It will be interesting to see what he does next Saturday.

Despite the tension and niggle within the game it was certainly
a very poor advert for the game of rugby. Far too many stoppages
and both teams intent on the kicking game, which unfortunately
The Lions came out second best. I’m sure it won’t happen but I
would love to see Marcus Smith running the show from fly half.
He shows a great ability to play an exciting running brand of
rugby. The Lions appeared to play the same game plan as South
Africa and came out second best by a country mile.

Erasmus is to face a Misconduct Hearing over his criticism of
the Match Officials in the First Test. GOOD.
I wonder if he'll be a Water Boy / Coach on Saturday.

Well this is a big turnround in selection. Are the English
being blamed for the 2nd Test loss. Or are our 5 subs being
held back to come on later in the game to provide the Impetus to
Win the game. WE'LL HAVE TO WAIT, AND WATCH, TO SEE.
I'll go for a Lions Win.

I said above it would be a bonus if Faf De Klerks injury kept
him out of the game, IT HAS.
South Africa have brought Morne Steyn into their squad, he can
convert Penalty goals from outside the stadium.

What does Sam Skinner have to do to get in the starting line up
I can't believe how Gatland and England boss Jones have both
been reluctant to use the best no 8 in British rugby.

Sam Skinner is a very good Second Row / NO 8, but why he
wasn't selected is just a matter of choice by the Lions
Management/ Coaches.
Jones will Never select Skinner, probably because he's Scottish,
he has 10 Caps. He did play for England in the 2015 U20 World
Cup, Then decided on Scotland as his International future.
Did you mean Sam SKINNER, or Sam SIMMONDS
