Rugby for next season is looking very doom and gloom because at
this time nobody knows what’s happening regarding the
Coronavirus and when the season will start again and If people
don’t stay home and try and reduce the risk it will just
continue with longer shut downs .
Anyway regards to rugby and the Titans this is my own personal
opinion on what I would like to see but this all depends on two
people Martin Jenkinson and Mr Cragg because without these two
men and their money plus sponsors there is no next season .
1/ secure sponsorship for next season
2/ secure Steve Salvin as he’s turned the players around and
keeping smithy is another bonus .
3/ secure as many of the first 23 to fight for next season
before clubs start taking key players
4/ win next season and gain promotion back to Nat 1
All 4 options are achievable but there is tough times ahead
which we can get through

5/ Appoint At the back as our Sales Manager, he's
certainly sold me on the 1/ 2/ 3/ 4/ statements he's made.

I'm of the opinion where if we'd played better before Christmas
we wouldn't be in this situation but we are so just need to
forget about it and look forward to the new challenges ahead. As
previously stated we need to keep Steve Salvin and a good core
of the team I'd be happy with 15 then rebuild again with a group
of fresh younger players. Like most supporters gutted we went
down but also excited at the same time about the new challenges
ahead and with the right recruitment think we could see the dawn
of something special. Anyhow il be there like all fellow titans
with my season ticket supporting the club we all love so roll on
hopefully September and stay safe everyone

Just looked at a couple of N2N websites and noticed that they
charge £10 per adult admission. Do we need to do something
similar to keep people coming? I now consider myself a bit of a
'floating' supporter, not because I don't have the desire to
come and watch the games anymore, just that I have other options
which mean that I have to decide between 6/7 hrs out in the
countryside with either a few friends or my wife, and only
paying for the fuel to get there, or 2hrs watching the rugby and
paying £30 for two of us to attend. Clearly from seeing how the
attendances have plummeted since the heady days pushing near the
top of the Championship, there are many others like myself where
the rugby option just doesn't compete with other options
available. I do appreciate that for many the Titans is their
first love and will always come top when they are looking for
their Saturday entertainment, and I applaud these diehard fans
as they are the heart of the club. I'm just not sure what can be
done to turn this around???

Steve Bott . I’m hoping that the loyalty of the players /
supporters and sponsors will be enough to turn this fantastic
club around back to Nat 1 . Let’s all be honest the RFU
shouldn’t have put us in this position in the first place we
still had options but it’s obvious what we think is sensible the
RFU think otherwise

The more I think of it, the more I agree with what has happened,
if you look at 2 south and North on BBC Sport then you will see
that Tonbridge clearly had the 3rd best record in the leagues,
they actually won more games than the top side. The season ended
and we were in a relegation position so therefore we are
relegated. Any other way of doing it would have caused too many
problems. If we re started the season that would mean Leeds stay
in the champ after being beaten every game, Sarries say in the
Prem after cheating, Richmond stay in Nat 1 and may not get
promotion the next season etc it goes on. Too many what if's.
Yes we are kind of hard done by and so are Fylde but they didn't
win as many games as Tonbridge in a theoretically weaker
division. Any other way leaves way more teams being stitched up.
Our team should have won more games it's as simple as that.
I do believe we would have survived if the season played on but
it didn't, we were 3rd from bottom so we are down thats just the
way it goes. A bitter pill to swallow but out of our hands now.
It was in our hands to not be in a relegation place by winning
more games. We didn't do that. We played poorly for a good chunk
of the season.
This is not the end. We will bounce back. It could be a blessing
in disguise, a chance to really look at ourselves and make the
much needed improvements all across the board!

Would we have stayed up who knows? Would the last games of the
season been interesting? definitely ,however the fact remains
that at the start of the season the team was hopeless all we did
was try to play a kicking game that did not work.
Next season depends upon the club having the finances to keep
going and some consistency with the squad .
For whats its worth I believe that next season could be a good
thing for the club the many local derbies should mean extra
people through the gates and also the club will save money by
not traveling down south for just about every away game.
Also i think that the best team i saw all season at the lane
this year were The Rams who came up from national league 2 and
theres no reason why we cant smash league 2 and hit league 1
running the season after just like they did.
We receive nothing from the rfu its the owners sponsors and
supporters that keep the club going and together we all want to
see the club succeed .

I agree with Jim Garbutt (Great Escape thread) that the numbers
thro the gate next season won't drop too drastically. We had a
good Core Support this season and I'm sure most supporters will
remain loyal. Also agree that with more locally based Clubs
that should add to the Gate numbers. True Supporters come to
Support THEIR Club immaterial of which League they play in.
When it comes to financing the Club, the Board are going to have
to look long and hard at where the money will come from.
This season the Salery Cap (Nat 1) was £280,000, next season
(Nat 2) it is £180,000. Thats a big drop in the money we can
spend on players.
So £180,000 over 30 games is £6,000 per game, then paying just
the 20 squad members each game, gives an average of £300 per
player. These of course are just averages, I've no idea how
much players are actually paid, but reading on the Rolling Maul
site it does look has though at nearly all Clubs it's PAY to
PLAY.
This money has to come from somewhere. Obviously we hope that
our Current Sponsors stay with us, and that we can carry on
selling plenty of Food and Drink in the Clubhouse. There's the
event nights at weekend's and hiring the Clubhouse out for
Private Functions. Then money from Program and Raffle Ticket
sales.
We have made money from all of these for years and HOPE that we
carry on doing so.
Now! the only Bone of contention that I can see will be the
Match Day Ticket prices. I've read on this Forum that a Club,
or Clubs in Nat 2 charge £10 for adults. I would suggest £15
for adults, 16 yrs and above, £10 for Concessions and £5 for
U16s.
Of course if you pay £20 up front (pre season) and become a Club
Member, you would save £2 per Home game and get 50p off your
drinks at the Bar.
I dare say that at times Nick and Martin have used some of their
own money to keep the Club going, so they'll need all the help
they (the Club) can get.
What's your thoughts.

salvin head coach and they hope to keep most of this year's
squad
