Look on 'Planet Rugby' for a follow up to this story. To say
that Championship Club Owners are upset, is an understatement,
with talk of them forming their own break away league, with a
       salary cap of £2,500,000.

Understand why they'd want to do that Winger but they'd be
       signing their own death warrant!

The RFU have explained in a statement that funding has been cut
owing to a lack of return on their increased investment, and
argued that the Championship Clubs do not play a key role in
developing players for the England team. They also say that a
number of "Objectives and Deliverables" were not achieved by the
       Clubs.
       Money per Club each season
From the RFU £550,000 down to
       £288,000
From the Premiership £146,666 down to
       £71,000
Each Club per season £691,666 down to
       £359,000

Only about 50% of current England crop cut their teeth in the
       championship.

Look at Bedfords website and read the letter from Geoff Irvine
to Bill Sweeney at the RFU, It's an excellent response to the
       RFU's latest financial decisions.
Geoff says that the RFU will save in the region of £3,000,000,
but they have an overspend of 10's of Millions of pounds on the
new East Stand at Twickenham. Total cost £336 million. Bad
management, giving out Back Handers or serious misappropriation
       of Funds. Who Knows ?
       😠😠.

Also worth reading the open letter from the Nottingham Chairman
to the RFU - makes a lot of sense. I’m heading down to watch
many of our ‘old boys’ in the Mickey Mouse Cup on Friday night.
I’ll happily applaud the people who keep rugby afloat in our
league and the Championship, despite the best efforts of the RFU
and PRL to destroy it up here in the North.

I hope that at our next home game we as a club will do something
       to show our support.
