Old Elthamians

Looking at Rolling Maul website it appears that sadly the major
financial backer (I do not know his name) for Old Elthamians
passed away just before Christmas. One poster has said "players
have been told there will be no payments until possibly the end
of the season so if they wish to move clubs OEs has to allow
them to do so as they cannot keep their side of current
contracts. Apparently close to double figures are in the process
of leaving". Sad news not only for his family but also for the
club.

Agreed, very sad for the Deceaseds family and the Club.
What this shows is the knife edge that Clubs are surviving on,
when relying on one major source of support. At a sad time like
this it must be a hard decision for the players to make to leave
the Club, at this point in the Season.

Their team a couple of weeks ago contained at least a dozen of
the players who came back so convincingly against us earlier in
the season. No Ollie Bryant though, and their site does say that
a number of youngsters were in the squad.

They certainly say the team had a large number of Under 21
playing. At least from our point of view they beat Moseley. As
DM says we have to play OE at home. Let’s hope we can win that
one and close the gap on Moseley
