If we had scored just before half time, which we should have, we
would have won this match and be 3 points better off. However,
we didn’t and came out second best again. That being said
overall this was a greatly improved performance compared to what
I have seen this season. By not taking our chances in the first
half and a disastrous 20 minutes in the second half led to our
eventual defeat. At least the players looked much for improved
after their 2 week break.

I thought they played loads better, even though we lost the lads
played their hearts out, just that dodgy 20 minutes on 2nd half
that messed it up, I thought Cookie was on fire today! And both
Sams boxhall and hollingsworth had a good game too. Shame that
we didn't close em out but felt like lads had an appetite today!

Great intensity in the 1st half, that was unfortunately not
repeated 2nd half until it was too late. We still gained 2
points on Birmingham Moseley which is a bonus but we can’t keep
relying on them losing.

We were the better side and snatched a defeat from the jaws of
victory. There were for me the following key things. 1. We
played much better and in the first half were exciting and
should have been at least 14pts further ahead.
2. things that turned the game for me were
3. When in front had a line out on their line. I was praying
(with the rest around) that they wouldn’t go long as we always
lose them. If we had secured wer would have gone over as our
pack dominated. As it was threw long, lost the lineout as
expected. 1 minute later Plymouth at the other end of the pitch
scoring. so a potential 17-3 became 10-10.
4. Just before half time Macka broke and had players left and
right. For some reason he thought he would score himself and
break the tackle. he didn’t. I f he had passed either side then
another 7 points.
If we had executed these two things correctly half time would
have been 24-3.
5. First half our half back pairing was brilliant and dictating
the game (well it looked like that from the Shed). so start of
second half the pairing had been changed. Why the no9 who had
played well went on the wing I have no idea.
6. New number 9 high telegraphed slow box kick high into the air
into the wind, blew back our way so they caught ran through and
scored. So now 14 points gifted to them
7 We went off the boil and gifted a couple more simple tries.
Now that is why I think we were the better team overall, we just
made some very costly mistakes, errors of judgement. I was
hopeful for the rest of the season as we were much better
overall today and should have won that contest. IMHO

Without doubt the best I've seen the Team play for a long time.
Of course we made mistakes, and yes we could have/should have
Won. We were leading until the 57th minute. Plymouth were a
big, strong, fast running team who were making headway through
their backing up of the Ball carrier to receive the off-load
ball.
In the first half we tackled like Demons and the pack were equal
too, and on occasions better than, Plymouth. Sam Hollingsworth
(10) certainly had his best boots on, he put in some tremendous
clearing kicks. We scored two converted tries and two
penalties, and limited Plymouth to one converted try and one
Penalty goal. I think we were good value for our 20 - 10 H/T
lead. But what could have been ?, twice in the 1st half we
SHOULD have scored tries. On both occasions, one on each wing,
we had a two on one situation, but the ball carrier tried to run
through the defender instead of giving his team mate a clear run
to the line. Probable 10 or 14 points thrown away. I'm
convinced that had we taken those points we would have gone on
to Win the game.
We lost the second-Half 12 - 28. To many first up tackles
missed, allowing Plymouth to gain the upper-hand and momentum,
resulting in them running in four converted tries. At this
point the Titans could have collapsed and conceeded a cricket
score, but they fought back and ran in two tries, one converted.
We were pressing for another, but the final whistle blew.
We did miss too many tackles and over-threw two of our
line-outs, but on a plus we did take three of Plymouths
throw-ins.
Overall this was a vast improvement all round and showed what
the Lads can achieve, with a little tightening up in a couple of
areas.
Play like this next week, and I'll predict a Win.
Moseley lost today so we are just 7 pts adrift. Exciting few
weeks ahead.
P.S. Not a bad start today, Leaky's try scored after 1min
27secs.

Agreed Winger I am hopeful. We could, with a better execution,
have won that game comfortably and that is encoraging.

I think we can all agree that it was better today, however,
realistically we can only catch 1 team and safety, even if we
beat Birmingham Moseley, is still a long way off. If we had
played with the same intensity all season as we did in the 1st
half today I’m sure we wouldn’t be in this position.

Well I can’t see any great difference. Solid first half. Rubbish
second.

I could see a lot of difference supporter, hence the analysis of
key points and we came back in the second half. Having seen the
previous losses , for quite a while I have thought we had been
off the pace of this league and well dominated, but yesterday we
should have won. That in my opinion was why I was far more
hopeful. However no time left we have to win the next two
starting at Cambridge next week.
