Agree with that, but when you have friends in high places,
things tend to go in your favour. I doubt that Leeds will have
those sort of friends again for a long, long time.
P.S. Phil Davies, Director of Rugby, has stated that he would
like to see the Club go back to being called ' Leeds Tykes '
When they are relegated, it would be nigh on impossible to play
at the Headingley Ground, unless they were allowed to play there
for Free. They are currently paying about £100,000 per season.
Maybe they could re-brand as Headingley or Roundhay, both Clubs
in their day were the equivalent of current top Premiership
Clubs.
I'm sure they could find a Ground in either of these outer
districts of Leeds. If they went about it the right way, as a
Junior Club, going back to it's roots, local People, Companies,
small firms etc, would back them. Yorkshire Folk are good at
spotting anybody/anything that pretends to be something they are
not, or acting above their capabilities. Equally they are good
at spotting anybody/anything that is good, honest and open in
what they do. If they did go back to their roots and start to
re- build gradually, then they could attract some of the large
numbers of support throughout Leeds and Disrict.
On the other hand they could go out of business at the end of
this season and do us a favour, by keeping us in Division One.

After losing to Nottingham Yesterday ( 10 - 62 ), Head Coach
Phil Davies said, "Our multiphase defence was pretty good (they
conceeded 10 tries) and you can't fault the effort, but we've
got to keep working and get better. You've got to hit your
touches and win all of your set-pieces in certain parts of the
pitch, we didn't do that and it cost us".
Is this Man for real, talk about Delusional, I think he needs to
have a long hard think, then consider his job options away from
Leeds, before his Rugby Cred is shattered.

Reading their forum comments I think a lot disagree with that
view of the game!!

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post Leeds have signed 3
Namibian world cup players who are in their squad to play
Ampthill they are centre Darryl de la Harpe back row Prince
Goseab & prop Andre Rademeyer not bad for some body who's skint.
I presume they are all full time to enable to obtain work
permits.

Yorkshire Carnegie game cancelled. was it down to the weather or
that they have enough fit players to play?

Yesterday they lost 55 -- 3 away at Coventry. They had
Varndell and their 3 new Namibian Internationals playing and
they were still way, way of the pace. Why have they wasted
money on these players who are not going to save their season.
DOR Phil Davies said, "Coventry were just too strong for us".
Replace the name Coventry with the name of every other team
they've played this season, and he could say the same. He did
say that he thought that the Referee was Excellent, its a pity
he wasn't playing for Leeds.
Leeds have 10 games left to play, what odds do you think you'll
get on them winning just one of them. I'd love to see what
their Player signings strategy is for next season, taking that
they have a next season.

Its hard to see a way forward for them at the moment. I never
want to see a club go down. The first game I took Chris to see
when we still lived in Leeds was Wakefield - Saracens at College
Grove in the early 90's. Wakefield won about 15-10 I seem to
remember, How fortunes change. I would like to see Leeds remain
as a club but I think they are challenged without a major cash
injection. I think they will find National 1 still a step too
far.

Leeds will lose every game this season, but will win one
competition, their DOR Phil Davies will win the prize for
Comedian of the year. His latest comment ------ " I know it
sounds ridiculous but our defensive set up was pretty good,
despite what the scoreline says. It's important now that we keep
our heads up and work on how we control the ball, build pressure
and score points".
Leeds 10 pts 1 try
Ampthill 52 pts 8 try's
