Phil Davies the Director of Rugby as brought in former Wales
team mate Colin Stephens as the new Head Coach, he is currently
the Director of Rugby at the Leeds Beckett Univ.
He has also brought in former Wales team mate Wayne Proctor, who
worked with him for Namibia, as Head of Strength and
Conditioning on a consultancy basis.
I would say that Varndel will be the next to leave. He may take
up a position at the local Fish and Chip Shop, thinking that it
will be a more satisfying job Battering Fish than getting
Battered on the field each week. He'd probably get more Passes
( attention ) from the Women coming into the Chippy than from
his team mates at Headingley.
Get the salaries of Ford and Varndell off the books and they
could probably bring in Half of the Namibian team.

They have brought in Ex Player Rob Rawlingson ( Coach ) to help
" Turn the Tide " ?
Ex Wakefield Trinity and Manly Sea Eagles forward James Hasson,
has paid his own fare from Australia, to play against Jersey
tonight ( away ). He's obviously Brain Damaged.
The Club have brought in two Props from Leeds Beckett Univ, to
go straight into the team against Jersey.
I can't make my mind up, should I wish them all the best for
the rest of the season, or order a Wreath now.
I would say that Rob Rawlingson will have the same effect at
Turning the Tide, as King Canute had.

Oh, come on Simon show a bit of compassion, those lads must be
trying really hard to gain thier first Win.
What's that saying when you are trying to complete an impossible
task ---------- It's like trying to plait Fog.
Maybe its time for the Club to book a flight to Switzerland and
visit DIGNITAS. That must surely be a less painful finish to
the season than carrying on with their Oxygen supply slowly
dwindling.
After all the joke comments I've made about Leeds, I would still
like to see a vibrant and successful Club at Headingley, or
anywhere else they decide to play. They are a Yorkshire /
Northern Club after all. They just need to swallow thier
pride, go back to thier roots, and re-brand to a name with Leeds
in it. I'm sure that if that happened, then the other Yorkshire
Clubs would be more excepting of them. There's nothing wrong
with ambition, but when you come out with a high and mighty, I'm
far better than you attitude, it doesn't lay well with other
people, particularly the down to earth Yorkshire folk.
I'd love to think that the Titans will be playing against Leeds,
in Division One next season.

You are right Winger14, but I think that they were rubbing
everyone's nose in the shit when they decided to call themselves
Yorkshire Carnegie and that is where this stems from. I have
been to watch them against us at their ground and the fans we
sat next to were obnoxious and were swearing like troupers the
whole game and from then on I would not take myself or my kids
to their ground again. Their ground was soulless. I know not all
their supports will be like that just the one's I had to bump
into.

Agreed. Ground like a mortuary. I remember going and when
Socino was taking a penalty a ball boy moved into his field of
vision and started bouncing the ball to distract him. I thought
it epitomised their attitude.

Agree regarding the Headingley Stadium at Rugby Union games.
The ground is far to big for the number of supporters,
including the away support, who turn up to watch the games. Not
many supporters, spread out in a big stadium, gives the ground
very little atmosphere, hence the soulless feeling.
Simon
When Leeds Carnegie were looking for more Sponsorship /
Backing, the biggest Company to offer support was the Provident
Insurance Co. A subsidiary company of the PIC was Satsuma Loans,
hence that name on the front of the Club's shirts.
The Head Office of Provident Insurance has always been based in
Bradford. The Company said that they would offer their
support, but only if the Club Dropped the name LEEDS from their
name. Probably due to the years long rivalry, in most things,
between the two Cities. With the loss of the £1,000,000 per
season from the Leeds Carnegie ( now Beckett ) University, Leeds
must have been desperate for the money. I don't know if any
other name change was considered, but they chose YORKSHIRE. I
totally disagreed with the choice of name and the way they went
about promoting it. Telling the other Clubs in Yorkshire that
they were the Top Club in the County, and wanting them all to
support the new set-up, antagonised most other Clubs supporters.
The vitriol aimed at Club was astonishing.
I accept that, in the circumstances, a name change was
nessessary, but the one they chose has turned out to be a
massive weight to bare. The board's decision to spend far more
money than they had coming in, has brought about the demise of
the Club . Lots of people, Players, Backers and Suppliers, have
suffered because of this. It will be a long, long time, if
ever, before they get back to being called a Top Club.

As for playing Leeds in Div 1 next season, we should have been
playing them in Div 1 this season. Then it would probably have
been them in the bottom 3 rather than us.
