It is all a mess at the moment isn't it. I wonder what the next
steps are. I am sure we are big enough to compete at this level
but it must be a huge drain on the owners resources.

Having read the piece from the Advertiser, there's no doubt
that Anthony Posa has a good Coaching record, so what went wrong
at Rotherham. The article says that the Club have not made any
comments regarding his departure. Maybe we'll find out,
probably from rumours, so better for the Club to make a
statement now.
We started the season with so much promise, the Players we
retained were good and we made some very good new signings.
Posters on the National One Forum made comments on the quality
of the squad we had assembled, and that our prospects looked
good for the new season. So again I ask, what went wrong. I
like many of you could see faults, but instead of getting better
we continually carried on making the same mistakes. We have
seen our lads play some good Rugby, but those periods have been
few and far between. In too many games we have lacked
penetration thro the Centre's, and let the opposition run thro
us far to easily. We have been camped on the opposition's line
numerous times and not scored, not thro lack of strength, but
thro a lack of guile. In games we have been leading, but not had
the nous to close the game down. We lack a few old warriors in
the Forwards who know the "Dark Arts" and how to get away with
them. We have some good speedy Backs, but we lack a "Manu
Tuilagi" in the Centre, a good old fashioned battering ram.
Although I've been critical, this is from the Heart, this is My
Club, My Team, and I LOVE them. RRUFC has been part of my
life since 1960 and I'll NEVER give up on them. We still have
two Men who are the life blood of OUR club, who I will always be
grateful to.
We will get a new Coach and Possibly some new players, who will
need OUR support.
Whatever happens in the future, don't lose Heart, alway,
however hard it is, keep thinking that there will be a brighter
future. Usually Pessimists are Miserable and Optimists are
happy, so keep a smile on your face, you know it makes sense.
When all the World seems weary, and everything you do goes
wrong, just forget your troubles and learn to say, Tomorrow Is

Some of the words may be wrong, but its near enough. Read the
words to the song, its good.

I am equally bemused Winger as I thought we would be top 6 again
this season. Still their shouting but it is really confusing
given the quality of the squad. So it is crucial we retain our
confidence in this squad. It has to come good with the right
direction.

Can't agree more Winger! I wish Anthony Posa all the best and
I'm sure he will go on to be succesfull again. Unfortunately it
just hasn't worked out. Whether he is to blame or not we don't
really know but I do think a change is needed to at least try
survive. The lads need support now more than ever and hopefully
a new coach will turn things around. We have come through worse
with our Rotherham grit and I have no doubt we will do again. If
not and we do get relegated then so be it I will be there for
pie, chips and some Rugby Union.
Hope the lads have a good break, get some good rest and recover
with a new lease of life. Hopefully this break will allow a few
injured players to return!

Fantastic post Winger 14, I totally agree with all you have put.
The only point I would add is that if in the games against
Plymouth lost by 6, Moseley Lost by 4, Darlington Lost by 5 and
the drawn fixture with a Hull had all been won we would not be n
the position we find ourselves now. Victories bring confidence
which in what appears to be lacking at the moment. Clifton Lane
used to be a fortress where teams used to find it nearly
impossible to leave with a victory. This is what we need to
recreate.

Hopefully we'll have a new Coach in place soon. No game now for
two weeks, so time for Him ( Her ) to have some input into the
squad. None of our squad have only just started playing Rugby,
they've all be playing for a good number of years, so they must
shoulder a fair amount of the blame for our poor run of results,
as well has the Coaches. Let's hope that the New Year brings
us a new start. Our result against Plymouth could give us an
idea as to what the rest of the season holds.

Curious symmetry to the season: we have played all the teams
once, I believe, in the Ants Posa era and will now play them
again in the post-posa times. Starting by losing 49 - 7 to a
team we beat 31 - 20 under Posa is not, perhaps, the best of
beginnings.
