This season is worse than any I can remember and I've been
supporting Roth since 1983 and what ever happens I will be there
next season what ever league we are in.
After saying that I agree about the blind faith from some people
in the club house that every thing will turn out OK but it
won't.
We read every week that we have good players and every week
teams that are getting hammered every week play us and beat us
comfortably.
Ask anybody that went to Sale and they will tell you that has
got to be one of the worst performance in Roth's history and
when the captain got on the supporters coach
and said that was s*** it says it all.

It is very clear that the club requires significant investment
and it’s also clear that the current owners either don’t have
it, or are not willing to put it in anymore. That’s fine, they
just need to be honest with the fans as it’s easy to spend other
people’s money. With investment comes a proper management
structure, better communication, better facilities and better
recruitment at all levels of the club. The club is poorly
managed and it’s caught up with them. There are umpteen examples
of better managed clubs operating a similar business model in
National One, and even the Championship which proves it can be
done.
We have gone through umpteen coaches over the last few seasons,
at what point do we start asking questions of the coach
recruitment? I don’t enjoy writing what would appear wholly
critical posts but we need some accountability, it’s not good
enough and it’s sad to see our great club descending to what in
effect is non league rugby.

Bloody Hell Edinburgh Titan, I can't believe it, but I agree
with nearly everything you have said.
Mind you, I'll still keep looking thro my Rose Tinted
Spectacles, and keep believing that everything will get
better-----Eventually
I'm putting one of my Hotels on Rotherham beating Plymouth on
Saturday .
I'm taking a risk there, as its one I own on Park
Lane--------------------------------------------------On my

Did you think Burnell, Jones, Keys, Posa were bad choices prior
to them starting or is your wisdom after the event?
Who would you like to see coaching us?

For what it’s worth I’d like to see Nic Rouse back coaching the
team as he is an example of what better coaching can do to an
underperforming squad. However, I fear that the infrastructure
that exists and the squad this season would prevent that
happening again.
Also, a coach of a decent standing would be taking a major risk
to the quality of his cv in taking the job now but we’ll see.
I’d view almost any coach as a better option than Martin
Jenkinson coaching the team. We need to give ourselves every
chance from dropping in to the abyss.
I really hope that we can win the Plymouth game and gain some
momentum. Enjoying the debate anyway with people who clearly
care deeply about the club.

It’s so hard to gain momentum when confidence is rock bottom.
I’d forgotten about Nick Rouse.
I agree that we need a backs coach.
Let’s hope 2020 brings us more joy!

Sure we could find a TA post for him - get him back. Actually if
we have confidence we can get out of this. It must start with
beating plymouth this weekend. I think Moseley will lose and
that would put us about 4 pts maybe 5 behind. We have moseley at
home and if we win that then it is all to play for. However I
now think Moseley is the only team we can overtake. If we lose
at home to Plymouth then it is that bit harder. If we lose to
Plymouth and Moseley then it will be nearly an impossible
mountain. I still have faith - but who exactly is the coach now?

I remember talking to the players about Joe Barker my view at
the time was I thought he should be playing less and being more
hands off on the field but the players I spoke to all said that
they played better for having him on the pitch and that his read
of the game was second to non. I for one would love to see him
back.
