Looking at the results once the league is updated I think we
will be third off the bottom. Genuine question - at this stage
do you think we will be in a bottom end scrap
       Or comfy mid table?

We could have won 3 which we lost!
I think we’ll be mid table if the injuries aren’t severe.
One big drawback for us is no forwards/joint head coach on match
       days.
We missed a trick not signing Smiffy as player coach.

Yes agreed. I think we will be mid table but I would like 3 wins
out of the next 5 to start the process.

I don't believe either team deserved to Win, or Lose, today. A
draw would have been a fair result.
I thought our lads put in some good defensive work today,
particularly on the three occasions that Darlington were
pressing on our line, but not to many idea's when attacking. We
need someone in the Centres who can break the line, we're
       missing Tom Bullough.
Not a good start when we lost Jamie Cooke to injury early in the
first half, so again having to reshuffle our Backs. Thank
goodness another didn't go off injured. I think Clubs should be
allowed to have 6 or 7 subs on the bench, therefore allowing
       for 2 or 3 Backs.
Sam Allan, Tom Williams, Dan Leake and Kieran Frost were all
named in the programme as starting today, but non of them were
even in the Squad, what happened between the programme being
printed and this morning. Did they all get injured in training,
if so then we're really up against it.
I think it shows how the game went today when the out and out
highlight of the match was when our Forwards pushed Darlington
back off thier own put in at the scrum.
Sorry but there was another highlight of the day, I got a
really good helping of Pie and Chips.

Couple of tough games coming up we need to win one of them I
       think.

Poor result that. I am starting to think that the dual head
coach idea is not really working. Too many chiefs not enough
Indians comes to mind. I feel we should have signed Ants Posa as
head coach and Matt as a forwards coach, or ideally as has been
said before a player coach. Thats no nock on Matt's abilities he
just has responsibilities at Doncaster too. Now there might be
more than meets the eye there negotiation wise but I didn't like
the concept when I saw it. I'm willing for my mind to be changed
       but I'm now very unsure.
It is strange because on paper at least we look stronger across
the board as a team. We probably are missing Seb, he was pretty
special and the first player in years to score tons of tries for
us. Are back row is great but Seb was a special player for us
       last season.
Any talk of promotion for me now is off the cards. We would
probably have to win every remaining game. We need to settle mid
table and get out of the relegation zone.
I wasn't at the game so I can't comment on that but we should be
winning these close encounters. Particularly at home.

Looks pretty rubbish from the Med. too. I think we start seasons
       desperately undercooked.
I’m not optimistic. A drop to Nat 2 could be terminal

Trouble is that is what has been said in every poor season we
have had in recent years. The other teams will also be clicking
but are amassing points whilst they are in that process. We do
need to get a move on sharpish otherwise it will be Christmas
and we will be 'clicking soon'. It's happened before. I think we
need 4 wins before Christmas to ease a bit of pressure. Ionians,
stortford, Canterbury should be 3 then Blackheath or Sale for
the 4th. Wins on top of that will be a bonus. Less than that
       will add to the trickyness.

I think that todays performance wasn't to bad. At times it felt
like we were up against a team with an extra player with some of
       the referees decisions.
We are in a league now that seems to have come alive and loads
of clubs have spent well and have big squads with some really
good players. many of the teams are evenly matched and one or
two plays makes the difference between wining and loosing games.
The boys put in a full 80 minute performance yesterday but the
stopping and starting helped no one. looking back at the matches
so far no one has smashed us i think theres about 24 games left
       so its early days.
I think Joe Barker made a massive differance in games last year
he drove the boys on on the pitch and kept them calm he also had
a really good read on the game he came in for some stick for
playing all the time but I think he was a game changer.
We have not hit the ground running like last year but thing like
line outs are loads better and you can see work is being done
in training any talk of relegation is well off the mark and
       things will improve before long.
