Don’t know where that came from but not right, we were three
tries to none up at half time ?

But we did not get the result ! So very, very marginally better
than last year !

Didn't think it was so much the penalties, but the free kicks
the ref gave to them at scrums which we were clearly winning.
Enjoyable day despite the result, which was, to some extent,
misleading. We got a good lead early on. If it were a league
match, we had plenty of opportunities to manage the lead -
taking 3 points from the vast number of blatant penalties they
conceded close to their line and under their own posts. But in
a practice game, there is no point in kicking the 3; you are
there to practice.
There was a patch where they scored a couple of tries quite
quickly where we seemed to lose focus a bit, particularly when
they drove at us repeatedly through the middle.
Toby Williams carried for a lot of yards again. We made a
number of good line breaks, set pieces were generally good for
this stage of the season.
Big test next week.

My mistake, when I saw John Shaws post saying 22 - 19, I thought
we'd Won.

Well worth my 4 hour drive to wharfedale to watch even though
the result didn’t go our way . Lots of positives from the game
that again had new players only having their 2nd 40 min run out
and some negatives. For me I still can’t get my head around some
of the refs decisions 4 penalties on their line and no penalty
try ? . Gave penalties against us in the scrum for going in
early but nothing for Dale who did exactly the same along with
boring in which was so obvious , The ref was also oblivious to
the Dale players just laying on ours and making no effort to
roll away Those small negatives that lead to us giving
penalties away I think came from a lot of frustration and we
gave Dale to much respect and switched off when we was 19 up
which you can’t do with any team .
But you have to applause Dale on the effort they put in .
Did anyone else see Ben Lazenby from YC watching the game I
wonder how many players they still need
