Good win today. I hope we can hang on to many of the players. I
guess some will be offered championship but Roth is a lovely
       family

Great win yesterday. One of our most together performances of
the season that I have seen. We made yards with nearly every
carry, knocked them back in defence, scrummed well and defended
their powerful rolling maul. Apart from the try we let in just
before half time we were brilliant. The try let was pretty soft,
2 missed tackles. I'm hoping we can keep a good amount of these
       players.

I enjoyed the game yesterday and it was good to get a 5pts Win.
It was pleasing to see our forwards put in a very good show
against a strong Caldy pack, and our backs made some good runs
with the ball. Also good to see much less aimless kicking. I
thought that Caldy played really well, they attacked at every
opportunity and preferred to keep the ball in hand instead of
Kicking it. They passed the ball well and their backs were
quick and elusive. We helped them at times with some sloppy
attempts at tackling. It surprised me that they only got over
       our Line once.
Which goes to show, apart from the odd lapse, just how well we
defended. Some of the tackles we put in and the tight defence
on our own line was excellent.
The gate of 696 was certainly helped by the Caldy support. There
were 5 supporters coaches turned up. I did here that there were
about 200 people in total. I understand that the Club didn't
charge an entrance fee for the Caldy children, and there was at
lot of them who wouldn't have been counted on the gate number.
I enjoyed a good chat with Louis McGowan after the game, he's
like "Benjamin Button" he looked Younger, Fitter and Healthier
than the last time I saw him and that's a fair while ago. He
said that there was no way he was coming to Clifton Lane, with
his boots, without getting a run-out on the Grass again. The
Clapping and Cheering when he ran onto the field, brought back
happy memories of times past. A true Gentleman and a Rotherham
       Giant.
I would love to see a Win away at Cinderford next Saturday and
home Win the week after against Bishops Stortford, because, not
being a defeatist, I can't see us getting much in our last two
games of the season, both away, against Blackheath and Old
       Elthamians.
On second thoughts, both of those teams are in with a chance of
promotion, so Maybe they might be more Uptight than our lads who
can go out and throw the ball around, enjoy themselves and try
to finish the season on a high. Who knows there might be One,
       or maybe Two, upsets.
Heard that Hooker Ali Thompson is leaving us at the end of the
season and going back to Hull Ionions.
Read on Nat One Forum that it was Tom Cotterills last game
       yesterday, he's off to Australia.
Yellow Card to Seb Nagle-Taylor for Foul Play (pushing a Caldy
       player)
Red Card to the Caldy player for Foul Play (slapping Seb across
       the Face)
It was nothing really, but Rules are Rules and the Ref applied
       them.

It looked as if Seb might have said something to upset the Caldy
player who got the red card. The ref was very close to the
incident and also consulted with the Touch Judge

I think their tight head may have been getting a card before Seb
had a word with him. It was a bit scrappy around that point, but
most of the game was very enjoyable. Pretty even at set pieces,
we got on top a bit towards the end.
In open play, we played some attractive rugby and our defence
was up very quickly. Even when Caldy held onto the ball for
periods, they could not make a lot of progress. Half backs
looked threatening; Alex Dolly nearly got through for a try and
       Callum's try was well worked.
Well done all. Can't get next week because of a wedding! Let's
make it 3 wins on the trot.

Seb pushed their prop just before their prop threw his punch. It
was right in front of the ref so a yellow is fair in that
circumstance. No need from their prop to punch him in the face
however. The punch didn't seem to faze Seb too much!!
