Nico Lee (Cheeters) has been Banned for 13 WEEKS, for
'Clearing his nose onto an opponent'.
I bet he now wishes that he'd taken a Hankie on to the field
with him.

It always fascinates me that it’s tolerated for players in rugby
and football to expectorate or clear their noses into the pitch.
Is it a modern habit? It is one of the ways TB is spread and I
suspect was discouraged early last century. I remember a
football manager answering a query about the habit saying
“players have to clear their phlegm”. It’s definitely not
allowed on squash and badminton courts. Squash players in
particular play a far more physically demanding game than field
sports and not clearing their phlegm doesn’t appear to be a
problem. It’s a disgusting habit.
