We played a rubbish first half and an inspired second half. Well
done. Best ref at the Lane all season?

The ref wasn't bad at all. I agree with what has been said so
far, we looked very bright in the first 5 mins then dropped off
completely in the first half. Lost all structure and allowed
Esher to play their game. Much better second half, Callum Irvine
did a great job at fly half and Joe Barker looked much more
comfortable at 12. Sam Allan looks pretty handy. Still much to
improve on but a far better performance today. Seb was
outstanding when he came on.
Well done Roth.

Laid up in bed with a sickness bug, so followed the game on the
excellent Twitter feed. A Win, with a bonus point, is just
what the squad needed. Congrats to Seb on his Hat-Trick. Sounds
has tho the game flowed better with Calum at Ten. He also put
in some good long kicks out of hand, a big attribute for a 10.

Good game. Started bright . Then we lost momentum and went
behind but then really came back and played well. Their 3 hats
off broke his toe but came back on. Now I remember a broken toe
in another game a few years ago..,., downside our pies today
were awful, gristly, chewy and very very salty. First time they
have been left. New pre game food to be sourced now. Grand cuppa
for 50p in the cricket club repaired some damage! Onwards we go

Clearly, this was just the result we needed.
It was a little worrying how many times their backs managed to
side step the first tackle, but to give credit, the lads were
very good a tackling back once they did break through. I
thought Esher had the better of the first half.
All change at half time. Apart from the early obstruction
mistake, we were much the better side second half. The scrum
was getting better and better for the last 20 minutes. Seb
looked like he could score at will. Great ball from Connor
Dever for the last try. Some very clever kicking, especially
from Callum Irvine. But for a few poor decisions( throwing long
at crucial lineouts in that wind, trying to run it out from near
your own line and giving a silly penalty, etc), the margin could
have been bigger, but it still felt like it could have gone
wrong when they were lining up that penalty attempt.
Let's hope we can keep switched on.

Esher looked the better side in the first half with three or
four clean line breaks and I thought the worst, but a much
better second and it looked like Seb does not like being left on
the bench with his three second half tries. around better second
half performance.

Some are being a little kind. We were awful first half. The
transformation in the second half came with forward dominance
and fantastic defence.

Love to know why Seb was on the bench. He has been our standout
player all season. Has he got a contract next season away from
Roth. Even their director of rugby named him as our man of the
match. Many questions unanswered.

I am hoping it is because he has played so many games that we
were trying to give him a rest. I hope he hasn't been given a
contract elsewhere , however I wouldn't be surprised if higher
divisions are interested in him. I hope we have him next season
