       The Great Escape!
We could have had it won by half time. We were very lucky to
come out of that with a win. Some poor officiating again but we
give away far to many penalties.
       Onwards and upwards.

Yes, another great escape. How many decisions went against us
today, probably needed a calculator to keep score.
It's a good job that Moseley missed that Conversion on 80mins,
that would have been the killer punch. Mosley have only won
one Away game this season, so WHY did they come so close to
their second. Again I couldn't make the game today so followed
it on Twitter. It didn't make for easy reading throughout, did
we badly upset the Ref ? before kick-off as we seemed to be
conseeding a decision every couple of minutes. Anyway a Win is
a Win and we remain in 5th place, with only 5pts between us and
       the Top.
Next week away at Sale is again a must Win game to kick in
another Winning run. Look at next week's fixtures, four of the
Top 6 are playing each other, so we must take advantage of this.
How many more times do we have to say that the Players need to
tighten up on the basics. Not hanging onto a pass and giving
away penalties, particularly at the breakdown, are killing us.
I'm convinced that our Lads are far better than some of their
       play suggests.
A GOOD AWAY WIN NEXT WEEK WILL MAKE THE JAMESONS TASTE BETTER.

I don't usually like to comment on the ref as I feel it is
always going to be a bit biased towards Roth however the ref was
poor today for both sides. I would be spitting feathers as a
Moseley fan as we would be if we had lost. The ref interfered
far too much and never let the game get going. Let alone the 15
minutes extra time each half?!?! Missed tons of Moseley
infringements but seemed to nit pick everything we did. Saying
that we did not help ourselves.
Glad we got the win but if we want to challenge for promotion
there is work to be done. To be honest we really need an out and
out fly half. Some one to get the backs going, a propper
       playmaker.
Strange game but another hard fought win. COME ON ROTH

I suspect each scrum took about eight minutes. It’s ridiculous
       and spoils the game.

Agree with the points made and those by Chris. ref spoilt the
game today and I think he was the worst I have seen at the lane
this season. Broke the flow and at times made some bizarre and
inconsistent decisions. I also agree we need an out and out 10
to dictate the game. Joe is a great coach but he is not a 10 and
it really shows in the back line. I am assuming we don’t have
one available but for me - Joe the coach and on the scaffolding
like Lee was - spotting the play, dictating strategy. Then a
dedicated 10 to drive the game on the field. For me that would
       be a step change.

What can you say ? Fling start and looked like running away with
it but Moseley slowed us down and took the heat out of our quick
start aided by the ref who basically wanted to be the star of
the show ! his involment in the game was greater than all the
players of both teams combined !
Mos scored with their very first venture into our half really
after working down the line with the ref helping their
progress, eventually they won the line out and pushed us over at
       a great rate of knots.
All square at half time with all to play for !
Second half started brightly but when in a great position our
replacement hooker over threw the ball and this lead to them
kicking to touch once again and de ja vue ? Rolling maul again.
They did have some huge units in their pack !
Meanwhile Sir proceeded to penalise us for everything and
anything he could think of, giving them opportunity to gain
great positions near our line where despite some great defence
they looked like a pride of Lions chasing a Wildebeast ? down !
I think he gave about three crossing pens with three knock ons
that went backwards and gave us about 5 seconds advantage but in
their case he came back after two minutes ?
Never the less he left the best for
last much to our advantage when he played about 15 minutes
stoppage time in which time we scored our converted try for a
much needed win ! another five minutes and we would have needed
miners lamps to see the game !

A better headline than 'The Great Escape' would have been,
"Heroic Efforts Prevent Daylight Robbery Attempt'.
We absolutely controlled the game whenever there was any free
play but the Referee was the most one-eyed official I have seen
since Ed Morrison thankfully hung up his whistle. (Actually, I
think he was worse than Ed)
He was only watching what one team did; missed their knock-ons
but blew ours when they went backwards. Missed their high
tackle and numerous obstructions but always called ours. Many
of the penalties he gave them were a mystery as he often did not
       signal a reason. Awful.
All 3 of their tries were the result of penalties allowing them
to get into position to maul it over. At Moseley, I thought it
was our fault as we gave away 4 penalties at crucial times.
Today, every time he blew his whistle, it was a penalty to
Moseley for the whole 80 minutes. Fortunately, there were about
14 minutes left after that when he seemed to find that he did
       have another arm.
To play that last 14 minutes, when time was up, winning penalty
after penalty on their line and not getting the penalty try, and
not making a mistake until we got it over was awesome. Well
       done all.
