results were strange in the league and today further showing how
close things are. Rosslyn Park are now top. DMPthumped
Elthamians. Plymouth won at Blackheath. Rosslyn look to be
strong if they can put 7 past our defence.

Did we come away with any points today, we seem to take a couple
of games to get into the swing of thing after a break. Or is
this just me.

I knew this would be a hard Away game, but didn't expect that
result. Things looked close until the last 30mins, then it
looked like we fell apart. Wasn't there so can't comment on our
defence, but after some of our recent defensive displays,
conceding 7 try's looks bad. I would never moan about the loss
as Rosslyn Park are a good team, but we don't want any more
results like this one, if we have aspirations of finishing in,
at least, the Top 3.
That game is now yesterday's news, so it's now on to Moseley at
Home on Saturday. Is this a good opportunity to start on
another Winning run, let's hope so. Has Jim as said, there were
some strange results yesterday, so what looks like a big gap
between us and the Top can all change in a couple of games.
This is certainly an enthralling season and it will take more
than Mystic Meg to successfully predict the Final outcome.
I will probably miss the next two Home games, as my Wife has
just had a Full Right Knee replacement, and is currently
hobbling around on crutches, and needs my help to get up, and
down, the stairs. I can't complain, she's looked after me
for the last 53yrs.
I told her that she reminded me of Matt Dillons sidekick,
Chester (Dennis Weaver) and nearly got a Crutch in the Crutch.
Who can remember Matt Dillon, played by James Arness.

It was one of the most entertaining games of rugby I have seen
for a while, and we have seen some good ones this year.
Both teams played open, quick rugby and didn't try to maul it
the whole time. Park got very quick ball from their set pieces
and got it into play as soon as they could. They disrupted our
maul very effectively and looked threatening a lot of the time.
We also played some good fast stuff and defended well for an
hour. Park deserved to win but the score did not reflect the
balance of play.
The big difference, up to 60 minutes, for me was the number of
times we lost the ball in contact. They were very good at
ripping the ball out in the tackle, and we spilled a few to help
them out even more.
Almost from the start of the second half, a lot of our players
were suffering from cramp - unused to playing on an artificial
pitch, I think. This led directly to at least one of their
tries.
The big turning point was Connor Field's yellow card for what
the referee deemed to be a deliberate knock - on. I don't
believe it was deliberate; I think he was trying to catch the
ball. I'm not even sure it went forward as Connor was running
towards his own try-line when he went for it. It was not far
from the halfway line so it could not be said that it prevented
a definite try being scored. There was a big game incident on TV
recently where on Replay evidence, no card was given because the
player had not deliberately knocked on. For me, the card was
wrong and from that point on, it was a no-contest.
The lads pushed hard for the bonus point try right to the end
and this made it easier for Park to score on the counter.
I don't think it was the poor performance that some are
thinking. Our opponents were very good and we hit some
unfortunate circumstances at a crucial time in the match.
Well done all - onwards and upwards.

Thanks Jim, she's already got her name on the list to have her
Left knee replaced, end of Dec this year. Talking to other
people who have had this Operation, its made a massive
difference to their lives.
She worked in Hospitals for 34yrs, so probably walked Hundreds
of Miles and stood for Hours. There must be thousands of people
who have done the same in their working lives. No wonder this
is one of the most performed operations.
