I am certainly not taking anythign for granted but I though this
was an interesting insight into the RFU's requirements for teams
in the Champ. Item 2.4 is interesting, gvien the discussion
around rotating the pitch. An "Aspirational" crowd capacity of
5000 seems ambitious but it is aspirational.

I think they mean the minimum capacity of the ground will
eventually have to be 5000 at a minimum rather than saying you
have to sell 5000 tickets per week if that makes sense. Though
5000 per week would be amazing but we have a lot of sport to
contend with in our catchment area.
I believe we have to show a plan of us getting the ground to
that standard. Essentially we need to just over double our
potential capacity which will mean a new stand needs to be
built.
I really don’t like the idea of moving the pitch 90 degrees what
so ever. I think we are running a serious risk of loosing
atmosphere and noise from the shed.
For me we just need to build a nice big stand across the other
side from the shed. You could even remove the seating in the
shed which would increase capacity as the cornered off area
would then be useable.
If moving the pitch is the plan then so be it, I trust in the
club and their vision for the future. It would just be a real
shame to loose the noise and atmosphere from the shed as when it
is packed the low roof really amplifies the noise level. Plus me
and my dad would need to find a new spot to stand so I’m
definitely not being biased….

The turning of the pitch 90 degrees doesn't sit well with quite
a few people, but the reasoning behind makes sense. With minimum
distances between post is 94-100m +minimum of 6m in-goal area +
minimum of 5-7m from end of goal area to hoardings at each end ,
then the length would have to be a minimum of 116m. I would
hazard a guess that, as the pitch stands it will not meet this,
not to mention the width of the pitch which I believe currently
stands at 63m, this should be a minimum of 68m, which would have
encroached onto the all-weather cricket pitch. It will be
strange to see the pitch rotated, but I believe that it will be
in the best interests of the club moving forward.
