       Clifton Lane

I have heard from a couple of sources that there are plans to
rotate the pitch through 90 degrees for next season. Anybody
know anything about this, is it a requirement for acceptance in
the Championship, should we get promoted?

I also heard from 5 people that the pitch is to be rotated in
the close season. A couple of them said that it would be
       changed if we were Promoted.
As usual we should wait until its officially confirmed by the
Club. If this work is carried out, then I'm sure that we will
have a much larger playing area.
I've took my place in the Shed for many, many years, I never
liked to watch a game from behind the Posts, I'll just have to
" Flit " and find a new spot.
The Club will have to built a New Stand ( Shed ) obviously on
the opposite side of the Pitch to the Clubhouse or behind the
posts at the opposite end of the pich to the current Shed. One
of the criteria in the Championship is to have a minimum of 500
seats, I don't know how many we have now, but it's no where near
       500.

Is the cricket team no more at Clifton Lane if this is the case?

I'm 95% sure that the Rotherham Town Cricket Club no
       longer exists.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It will be a bit of a shame if we have to rotate the pitch. The
shed and terraces help create a great atmosphere down the full
length of the pitch which I do feel could be negatively
impacted. Obviously this is just speculation at this point in
time but I am struggling to find the reasoning behind it. Could
we not just build a new stand opposite the shed to incorporate
       the new seating?

You are correct Winger14, I believe, sadly, Rotherham Town CC
       ceased playing last year

Sadly Rotherham Town Cricket Club Limited was dissolved from
       Companies House on 03/03/26.

As much as everyone loves the history at Clifton Lane, we have
to honest and say that the facilities are awful. If the club has
ambition, and it clearly has, the Ground has to be improved.
1 foot in the Championship now, I’m sure plans are afoot.

I have no idea as to when any work on ground changes will
commence, or indeed at what stage any planning is at.
Sitting here at Home I'm trying to picture where the Lighting
Pylons are situated. If these have to be re-positioned, how big
and how expensive a job will this be.
Moving the Posts and Marking Out the New Pitch would be
       relatively easier Jobs.
I know nothing other than possible rumours that I've heard, BUT,
My Gut Feeling is that the work could begin within a short
period after our Final Home Game.
A lot to think about but the main priorities at this time are
our results in our last three games, followed by the Squad
       changes for Next Season.
       Who will be retained
       Who will be leaving
       Who will be brought in
They'll certainly be plenty for us to discuss over the Close
       Season..

I would be surprised if we could rotate the pitch ! This would
result in the ball running down Clifton Lane after every kick at
goal and also going into the gardens of the terraced house’s
opposite ! Don’t think the council would allow this ?
