Jacob Umaga has signed for Leeds on a short loan from Wasps. He
will return to Wasps in December for the Premier Shield games.
I wonder where his Dad is now ?

Mike is at Bishop Burton College, near Beverley, head coach on
their sports/rugby programme with lots of links to local
academies and clubs.

Thanks for that. I wonder if the Club have any links to him,
it's always good to know someone who has his finger on the pulse
of Junior Rugby.

We have our own colts to draw on, but remember the way junior
rugby is structured in Yorkshire now, our friends from
Headingley run the RFU sponsored ERDPP system (England Rugby
Developing Player Programme), so they get to see all the young
talent from all over the county and try to lure the best to the
Carnegie academy. I know of at least half a dozen lads from the
Rotherham area who were/are involved with Carnegie.

I dont think any club is happy with Leeds and their privileged
position regarding the Academy they have.

As long has Leeds are in the top two divisions, then with the
facilities available to them, they will keep running this youth
programme and maintain their academy.
Wether we like it or not, at this time, they are the best fitted
club in Yorkshire to do this.
If in the future they are relegated, then it's unlikely that
they will have the finance to stay at Headingley. If this
happens they could / would lose their academy / youth programme.
I doubt that Leeds will be relegated so the above scenario will
probably not happen.

To be fair we have had some cracking Leeds Academy failures over
the years who have done us proud.

We have indeed John, and I can think of a few more I'd like to
see joining Paddy, Brandon and Steven in a Titans shirt in the
next few years...
