We lost, but it was going to happen again eventually. No
disgrace to lose away at Ampthill. Has Chris as said, it will
be a different story at the Lane. We now have two weeks to
work on our faults. I know that any player can 'knock on',
but catching the ball is one of the four basics of the game,
along with Passing, Running and Tackling. Following the game
on Twitter, it seems we were on the way to the Line on a few
occasions, when the ball was lost forward. In the Rugby Paper
it says that the two packs were evenly matched, but Ampthills
backs ran through ours to easily on occasions, so work to be
       done there.
I'm sure Ampthill have only lost one home game, and that was
       against Cambridge, our next opponents.
After losing yesterday we are now a Win away from the top 2, so
it's imperative that we win our next game to keep in touch.
As usual, I have every confidence that we will win, and with the
       bonus point.

Main thing is we are still developing and competing in the top
third of the league and look strong for top 4

Agree with some things, Winger, but others were not the way I
       saw them.
Their pack was much bigger but we matched them in set scrums.
They got on top in mauls towards the end. Line out was very
disappointing; we rarely won our own ball.
For most of the first half and the beginning of the second, we
seemed in control. Our backs looked at least as threatening as
theirs. We did turn the ball over a lot - a knock on when we
were over the line, for example. Catching was not particularly
the problem; we lost the ball in contact quite often, and 2
scoring opportunities went begging when the final pass was
thrown over the winger's reach straight into touch. To call the
refereeing 'inconsistent' would be generous; each time they
dropped it, it went back, each time we dropped it, it was a
       knock on. And so on.
We were the better team. They were clinical and got the points.
I agree with others that it will be different next time. Can't
fault the lads for effort and commitment.
Experience is what you get when you didn't get the points - I
think we will learn from it.

       Setter
I wasn't at the game, has I said I followed the game on Twitter
and read the report in the RP, so if you where at the game I'll
accept what you say. Without doubt we are a team that will
compete very well in this league, and agree with Jim that we
are a good bet for at least a top 4 finish. We have six more
games, 4H and 2A, to play this year (2018), and if we can win
our home games it would set us up nicely for the New Year.
