Re: Leeds Tykes v Roth latest scores

I thought that today we were second best by a country mile.
Tykes wanted it more than we did.
Being pinned back in our own half for 30 minutes didn't bode
well.
On a side note, how annoying is it becoming that the home Match
Day Announcer is whooping and a hollering to try and jeer up the
crowd. I'm all for vocal support from the supporters, whether
they are the home fans or the away fans, but with the power of
the PA system this is becoming an uneven playing field.

Rothoik nailed it saying we’ve gone off the boil. My two pence
(and not a criticism) is that Harvey has been playing safe in
his selections and over relying on certain players whether they
are in form or not because either he trusts/hopes they’ll come
good, or it’s a decision that’s easily defended because we’ve
been winning - double down rather than look to kick on further.
We’ve looked stale the past few couple of weeks now and need to
start using the squad more. Some great players in there who
would bring hunger and energy. Feels like we are at a crossroads
for the season in more ways than one.

Today wasn't all bad News, at least we came Home with the
YORKSHIRE REGIMENT TROPHY
As both Clubs have Won One game each, i assume we've got it
on points difference over the Two games. Roth 70 ----
31 Leeds

Totally agree with all the above comments, Leeds brought more
energy to the match & were
definitely up for it, a well deserved victory & if they can
sustain that level for the rest of the season, will secure their
place in Nat 1. Every confidence that Harvey & the boys will
learn from that & come back stronger in the New Year.
The one thing that spoilt the day for me was the attitude of
some of the Leeds supporters/2nd string players, sat behind us
in the stand, who thought it was acceptable to shout personal
abuse at certain of our players, not the sort of behaviour we
expect from supporter let alone players.
Merry Xmas & a Happy New Year to all

At four points down at halftime and then going 6 points up, with
the scrum becoming more and more dominant I thought that we
would sneak the win. However, full credit to Leeds continued
belief they fully deserved their victory. Their high tempo game
unsettled our slower style of play. Every break down they
appeared quicker to it and produced many penalties. Two of their
tries came from mistakes in our backfield. We also made far too
many kicking errors which gifted Leeds field position. In the
first half we took close to 30 minutes to obtain an attacking
position in their half. The stadium setting benefited Leeds
style of play.

I would agree about the fans. There were some comments, heard
from a small group, that should not occur at a Rugby game.
Person behind us, a Leeds fan, shouted for his team in the right
way. Shouted them on.

They set the tone by playing it at Headingley for a start. Why?
To have 1,000 people rattling around at such a big venue (
capacity for League is around 21,000 I believe) is soulless. The
attendance in the Rugby Post shows as 1,024.
Now a full Headingley is very good. I’ve been there to watch the
other code with my stepson who is a Hull KR season ticket holder
and it was a good atmosphere . Only issue is that with a large
crowd it’s an absolute nightmare to get away from.
All their other games are played at Bramhope these days,
I read an interview in the Yorkshire Post that refers to a 5
year plan to get back to the Championship. Well good for them
but Headingley is too big a venue.
Leeds is absolutely not a Union city and half or more of that
crowd must have been from Roth.

One final thing I would like to say with regard to the views of
several people saying that Leeds wanted it more. I disagree with
this but the energy tank was depleted and frankly from our side
we could have done with the Christmas break coming after the
Sedge game which represented the truer halfway point of the
season.
Leeds are not a better team than us, neither are Dings, as
reflected in the league table, but at any given time in this
league any team can beat any other.
So we move on, lick our wounds, hope the lads and all associated
with the club rest up and enjoy the Christmas break. Then we can
look forward to building on the great platform that has been
set.
The best is yet to come.
Merry Christmas everybody. 🍺🍺🍾🍾

4 out of the starting 15 for Leeds are from Prem clubs and have
played in the Prem Cup this season.
4 Huw Davies,5 Dylan Hodkinson & 14 Albert Bradshaw are from
Sale Sharks &
11 Nathan Greenwood is from Newcastle Red Bulls.
There was also a loan player [Sebbi Krippner] from Sale Sharks
who was on the bench.
Leeds try scorers were Bradshaw with 2 & Greenwood with 1.
